DESCRIPTION:“Behold\, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door\, I will come in to him and eat with him\, and he with me.” — John 21:3 (ESV) \nPurpose: \nTo point outdoorsmen to the cross. \nDate: \nSunday\, April 6\, 2025 from 6:00 am until 1:00 pm. \nLocation: \nFM830 Boat Ramp\, Willis\, TX 77318 – Click Here for map.  (Essentially\, head west on FM830 and drive until you fall into the lake.) \nRegistration:  \nFree!  Space is limited so register now.  We will prioritize opportunities for those who have not attended Blast & Cast events in the past.  Veteran Blast & Cast participants should find a way to volunteer and support the event. \nFishing: \nSpend the morning on beautiful Lake Conroe in arguably the best time of the year for catching catfish. This is some of the fastest and hottest cooler filling action that Lake Conroe has to offer. While taking in all of the sights and action\, you will meet new friends and have the chance to have some meaningful conversation. After we return to the ramp\, we will have a great meal provided and get to listen to a great message. Please be prepared to transport and clean your own fish. \nMeals: \nTailgate lunch provided at noon. \nRules: \n\nNo perfect people allowed. Come as you are\, no pretending.\nAlcohol will not be allowed on boats but will be allowed in moderation after the boat is on the trailer.\nPlease be mindful of your language when youth participants are around.\nHave a good time.\n\nWhat to bring:  \n\nValid Texas fishing license\nEveryone should bring their own fishing poles and associated gear. Don’t expect volunteer boat owners to lend out their gear or tackle\nAdults accompanied by a youth angler must bring a properly sized life jacket for the youth angler.\nCash for boat gas and ice.\nBoat snacks\, and drinks\, (no alcohol on the boats\, please).\nSunscreen\, hat\, and sunglasses.\nFilet knife and Ziploc bags – plan to clean your own fish\, please.\nA cooler to bring fish home\nA willing attitude that’s eager to help make it work and have a good time – remember\, everyone there is a volunteer\, so set your expectations as though you are going on a weekend trip with friends.\n\nSuggested tackle:  \nPlan to fish for catfish. Each fisherman should bring their own rod and reel (preferably a spinning reel) and tackle for fishing bulkheads (slip corks\, split shot weights\, hooks for shad and #6 treble hooks).
