DESCRIPTION:“Follow Me\, and I will make you fishers of men” – ‭‭Mark 1:17‬ ‭NASB‬‬\nPurpose: \nTo bring men together around the shared interest of the outdoors and fishing and to introduce or reintroduce them to the love of Jesus Christ through fellowship and His Gospel. \nDate:  Friday\, October 3\, 2025\, through Sunday\, October 5\, 2025\, at Elm Creek RV and Campgrounds \nRegistration:  \n\n$100.00 – Approved Volunteer Boat Owners\n$125.00 – Approved Volunteers\n$165.00 – Participant (16 yrs +)\n\nSpace is limited so register now.  We will prioritize opportunities for those who have not attended Blast & Cast events in the past.  Veteran Blast & Cast participants should find a way to volunteer and support the event. Volunteer Boat Owners must be approved by the event organizers. \nAge limitations/restrictions:  Minimum age is 16 years old. Youth participants must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. \nFishing: \nJoin us for a 3-Day fishing event designed to promote Christian fellowship and authenticity\, and to introduce the Gospel of Jesus Christ to outdoorsmen through the West Texas and Central Texas Chapters of Blast & Cast Men’s Ministries. \nPrizes will be given out in three different categories: Traditional Gear\, Fly-Fishing Gear\, and Kayak Fisherman Gear. \nParticipants will receive daily boat assignments from our event organizers. \nMeals: \nPlease bring snacks and drinks to bring on the boat. \n\nFriday: Dinner on your own (Elm Creek Grill is open until 6 pm.)\nSaturday: Breakfast\, Lunch\, and Dinner provided.\nSunday Breakfast provided.\nThere is a Bait Store / Gas Station/ Restaurant at the location\n\nRules: \n\nNo perfect people allowed. Come as you are\, no pretending.\nAlcohol will not be allowed on boats but will be allowed in moderation after the boat is on the trailer.\nPlease be mindful of your language when youth participants are around.\nHave a good time.\n\nWhat to bring:  \n\nThere is a Bait Store / Gas Station / Restaurant at the location.\nValid Texas fishing license with freshwater endorsement.\nDrinks and Snacks for the boat.\nEveryone should bring their own fishing tackle and gear for bass/crappie/catfish fishing.  Please don’t expect volunteer boat owners to lend out their gear or tackle.\nFilet knife and Ziploc bags – plan to clean your own fish\, please.\nA cooler to bring fish home.\nSunscreen\, hat\, sunglasses.\nA willing attitude that’s eager to help make it work and have a good time – remember\, everyone there is a volunteer\, so set your expectations as though you are going on a weekend trip with friends.\n\nSuggested tackle:  \nPlan to fish for Bass and Crappie and possibly catfish. Each fisherman should bring their own rod. Appropriate rods are medium-light to medium action\, 6-7ft long\, either spinning or bait-casting or a 5-8 weight Fly Rod with a sink tip or shooting head. For traditional gear\, 12lb test monofilament or 20-30lb test braided line is recommended. We also recommend putting fresh line on reels if you haven’t done so in the last few months. **Note: David Guajardo\, the operator of the onsite Elm Creek Bait Store\, knows the lake well.
