Port Mansfield, TX | 3-Day Fishing Trip

Purpose: Enjoy the unique opportunity to fish for trophy trout and to be challenged and encouraged by the Word of God.

PLEASE NOTE: THIS IS A WADE-FISHING TRIP INTENDED TO FOCUS ON TROPHY SPECKLED TROUT. PARTICIPANTS MUST BE WILLING TO WADE WITH THEIR OWN GEAR AND BE SELF-SUFFICENT WHILE WADING. NEW ANGLERS AND THOSE WISHING TO BRING CHILDREN SHOULD ATTEND ONE OF OUR SPRING/SUMMER FISHING EVENTS.

Registration: 

• $395 – Adult Participants (Age 16+)
• $250 – Volunteer Boat Owners

Age limitations/restrictions: The minimum age for this event is 16 years old.  All participants will be required to sign a liability waiver at check-in, and participants under 18 years of age must have a parent, grandparent, or guardian present at the event.

Check-In/Check-Out: Primary check-in will take place on Thursday, February 26 at 6:00 pm at the lodge. Everyone must check out by 11:00 am on Sunday.

Lodging and Meals: We will be lodging and dining with the fabulous Horn, Fin, and Feather on the El Sauz Ranch located just outside of Port Mansfield.  Participants will enjoy breakfasts and dinners prepared by the onsite chef.  You can find more information about Horn, Fin, and Feather at Horn Fin Feather.  Participants should be prepared to pack lunches to bring on the boat for Friday and Saturday as most boats will stay out through the afternoon.

Fishing: We will be wading Port Mansfield for trophy speckled trout at this event, with all day wades and lunch on the boat anticipated for both Friday and Saturday.

All participants should be ready and able to wade fish with artificial lures.  While our volunteers are always happy to give some instruction and assistance, each participant is responsible for bringing their own fishing gear and tackle and should be largely self-sufficient on the water.

All fishing takes place via volunteers who are donating the use of their boat (and fuel) for the weekend. Each volunteer will be assigned a party each day.  While we keep fathers and sons together, usually you will be fishing with people you don’t know.  This is done purposefully so please don’t be surprised.  Please note that our volunteer boat owners are receiving no compensation for their services and are paying for their spots at the event.  They are not professionals and are simply volunteering their boats and know-how so that you can have a good time.  Because of this, please take the utmost care of their gear and plan to share in any expenses incurred (such as gas for the boat).

Donations: Donations are tax deductible!  Our events do not operate at a profit so we are dependent on donations to fund the organization and maintain the low-cost nature of our events.  We are currently seeking individual, corporate, and church partnerships to assist in our effort to reach outdoorsmen.  Financial and merchandise donations are accepted.  If you would like to be a part of the Blast & Cast mission, please contact us at info@blastandcast.org for more information.

Rules:

1. No perfect people allowed. Come as you are, no pretending.
2. No drunkenness. Alcohol in moderation is allowed only after fishing is done for the day. Safety is a must!
3. Please watch profanity. We want to keep the environment kid friendly.
4. Have a good time.

What to Bring: Valid Texas saltwater fishing license.  Waders, rain gear, sunscreen.  Knives and baggies to clean your own fish if you choose to retain any.  Fishing gear and tackle.  An open mind, an open heart, and a good attitude.
