Wildman Weekend Outdoor Challenge

Join us in Hamilton, TX for 3-days of Father and son or daughter teams competing against each other in primitive survival / bush craft skills events

Purpose: To build relationships within the Blast & Cast volunteers and expose new sportsman to the Blast & Cast organization by teaching and testing teams’ abilities to complete primitive survival skills.

Dates: February 27 – March 1, 2026

Lodging:  We will be staying at Alexander Creek RV and Campground.  Dry RV Camping (no hookups) and primitive tent sites.  Lodging for Friday and Saturday nights is included in the cost.

The address of the Campground is: 371 CR 402, Hamilton, TX 76531.

Cost: $100 per person; $50 for volunteers.  This cost includes lodging, meals and a t-shirt.

Age restrictions:  Recommended age for participants is 8 years old or older.  All minors must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.

Meals: Dinner on Friday will be on your own.  Breakfast, lunch and dinner on Saturday, and breakfast Sunday morning will be provided.  Bring any additional snacks you prefer.

Giveaways:  Bushcraft skills related prizes

Rules:

–  Perfect people are not allowed. Come as you are, no pretending.

–  No drunkenness. Alcohol in moderation is allowed.

–  Please help keep the environment kid friendly.

–  Have a good time.

What to bring: 

*  Backpack type cook stove, mess kit (long handled spork and cup at a minimum)

*  Tent, sleeping system (sleeping bag, cot or pad), blanket, pillow, towel, toiletries

*  Rain gear and sunscreen (prepare for all weather conditions)

*  Sturdy outdoor clothing, hiking boots

*  Outdoor camp chair, water bottle, small day pack, headlamp foam ear plugs

*  Bible (if you don’t have one we will provide it)

*  Favorite snack and one to share with others

*  An open mind, an open heart, and a good attitude.  Remember, everyone there is a volunteer, so set your expectations as though you are going on a weekend trip with friends
