DESCRIPTION:“I’m going out to fish\,” Simon Peter told them\, and they said\, “We’ll go with you.” So they went out and got into the boat… John 21:3 \nPurpose: \nTo build meaningful relationships with other outdoorsmen for the purpose of leading them to\, or back to\, Jesus Christ. \nDate: \nFriday\, August 8th\, 2025 from 5:30 AM until 1:00 PM at the Texas City Dike. \nRegistration:  \nFree!  Space is limited so register now.  We will prioritize opportunities for those who have not attended Blast & Cast events in the past.  Veteran Blast & Cast participants should find a way to volunteer and support the event. \n\nAge Limitations: Daughters are welcome at this event.  Minors must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.  Please limit one youth per adult (i.e. father and son/daughter).\n\nFishing: \nWe will have volunteers present along with their boats. Our volunteer boat owners are not licensed guides and are not being compensated for the trip. No tips are allowed\, but please bring cash to chip in for your portion of gas\, ice\, and bait.  Each volunteer boat owner will be assigned a fishing party that is suitable to their boat and style of fishing. While we keep fathers and sons/daughters together\, usually you will be fishing with people you don’t know. This is done purposefully so please don’t be surprised. Please be flexible in your style of fishing and plan to follow the lead of the boat owner you are assigned to.  Essentially\, treat this like a fishing trip with a friend… this is NOT a guided trip. \nParty assignments will be announced after the morning devotion. \nMeals: \n\nPlease bring snacks and drinks to bring on the boat.\nAfter fishing\, everyone is invited to join us for a group lunch at a local restaurant.\n\nRules: \n\nNo perfect people allowed. Come as you are\, no pretending.\nAlcohol will not be allowed on boats but will be allowed in moderation after the boat is on the trailer.\nPlease be mindful of your language when youth participants are around.\nHave a good time.\n\nWhat to bring:  \n\nValid Texas saltwater fishing license\nEveryone should bring their own fishing gear.  Don’t expect volunteer boat owners to lend out their gear or tackle\nCash for boat gas\, ice and lunch\, or any live bait you would like to use\nBoat snacks and drinks (no alcohol on the boats\, please).\nSunscreen\, hat\, and sunglasses\nFilet knife and Ziploc bags – plan to clean your own fish\, please.\nA cooler to bring fish home\nA lawn chair (there is no seating at the pavilion)\nA willing attitude that’s eager to help make it work and have a good time – remember\, everyone there is a volunteer\, so set your expectations as though you are going on a fishing trip with friends.\n\nSuggested tackle:  \nPlan to fish for trout\, redfish\, and flounder. DESCRIPTION:“While walking by the Sea of Galilee\, he saw two brother\, Simon and Andrew his brother\, casting a net into the sea\, for they were fishermen.  And he said to them\, “Follow me\, and I will make you fishers of men.”  Immediately they left their nets and followed him.” Matthew4:18-20 \nPurpose: \nTo point outdoorsmen to the cross by building relationships and enjoying a budget friendly blue-water fishing trip that is suitable for all ages. \nDate:  Tuesday\, July 29\, 2025 \nGuest Speaker:  Johnny Roubion \nRegistration: Children ages 7 and up are welcome to join us.  Wives and daughters are welcome to join us.  We have 20 spots booked on the boat for this event\, first paid first reserved.  If you need to cancel\, we won’t be able to issue a refund unless we have another angler ready to take your place.  If the charter boat cancels\, we will refund all participants in full. \nCost:  Adult participants (ages 13 and up) $140\, youth participants (ages 7-12) $90 \nActivities:  Spend a day of fishing and relationship building on the beautiful deep blue water of the gulf with Blast & Cast Men’s Ministries and Galveston Party Boats targeting red and vermilion snapper.  Other species may be captured depending on season and legal size limits\, but red and vermillion snapper will be the main target fish.  Plan to arrive by 6:00am and gather in the parking lot for a short devotion and prayer time.  The boat will return to Galveston at approximately 7:30pm. \nHow to find us at the dock:  Galveston Party Boats is located at Pier 19. \nThe address is:  1700 Harborside Dr\, Galveston\, TX  77550 \nFrom Houston\, travel South on Interstate 45 (Gulf Freeway) to Galveston. Upon crossing the Causeway\, exit Harborside Drive. Turn left onto Harborside\, and continue to Downtown Galveston. From Harborside\, enter at 20th Street. \nARRIVE EARLY – PARKING IS LIMITED. There is a parking lot across from the boat’s office on Pier 19 that is run by the Port of Galveston. The cost for parking is $16 per day and credit/debit card payments are accepted at the parking lot kiosk. Parking is enforced. \nPlan to arrive at or before 6:00am and gather in the parking lot for a short devotion and prayer time.  Look for the Blast & Cast Men’s Ministries flags marking our gathering location.  We will share a short time of devotion and go over rules and expectations for the day and answer any last minute questions.  Discussion guides will be distributed to aid in pointed conversations during the morning and evening boat runs which are estimated at four hours each way.  The boat will return to Galveston at approximately 7:30pm. \nMeals:  Food and drinks can be purchased on the boat.  We recommend cash payments for galley purchases.  Small softside coolers with food and water or soft drinks are allowed onboard as well.  The boat does not allow anglers to bring alcohol onboard. \nIncluded:  Guaranteed spot on the boat\, rod\, reel\, tackle\, and squid for bait. \nNot included:  Parking (paid parking available across the street from the pier)\, fish cleaning services (table is available to clean your own catch)\, food and drinks (available for purchase on the boat)\, gratuities for deck hands (optional).  Cash tips for the deck hands at the end of the day are encouraged.  Approx. $20/person is reasonable as those guys do an awesome job of tending to every fisherman’s needs with tackle\, hangups\, breakoffs\, and handling your catch and maintaining your stringer. \nRules: \n\nNo perfect people allowed. Our volunteer boat owners are paying their way and are not professionals – nor are they licensed guides. No tips are allowed\, but gas in the tank and your share of other expenses is expected. Please bring cash to assist with boat gas\, ice\, and bait. Each volunteer boat owner will be assigned a fishing party each day. While we keep fathers and sons together\, usually you will be fishing with people you don’t know. This is done purposefully so please don’t be surprised. We recommend that you put fresh line on reels if you haven’t done so recently.\nLive bait – Live bait fishermen should have a supply of egg sinkers\, swivels\, 20-30lb test leader material\, 3/0 circle or kahle style hooks for croaker\, number 6 treble hooks for shrimp\, and popping corks.\nArtificial bait – Paddle tail-style baits are the easiest to fish. 3-4’’ models in glow/chartreuse\, limetreuse\, red/white\, and pumpkinseed are the basics. Topwater baits like Super Spook Jr’s or Skitterwalks (white\, chrome\, or black) can be exciting. Gulp shrimp tails fished under a popping cork can also be effective and kid-friendly.\n\nThere is a store in Matagorda with tackle. DESCRIPTION:Purpose: To build lasting relationships with outdoorsmen through the ministry of  Blast & Cast Men’s Ministries. Our Central Texas chapter will also explore a future partnership with Bears Den Lodge as we join together to point outdoorsmen to the cross. \nDate:  Saturday\, July 5\, 2025 – Saturday\, July 12\, 2025. \nLocation: Bears Den Lodge – 114 NW Zarembo Drive\, Coffman Cove\, AK 99918 \n“The Bears Den can create a unique experience for you. If you want to saltwater fish\, we have the boat and tackle for you. If you want to explore more than two dozen rivers within minutes of Coffman Cove\, we can supply you with a spinning rod and tackle. Or if you prefer\, you can bring a personal fly rod and try to match the hatch!” – Bears Den Lodge. \nKeynote Speaker:    T/B/D \nRegistration:  \n\nADULT PARTICIPANT – $2\,800 (all-inclusive except for license\, airfare\, and fuel).\n\nAge limitations/restrictions:  Adults (18 yrs.+) – All participants are required to sign a liability waiver at check-in. \nCheck-In/Check-Out: \nRules:  \n\nNo perfect people allowed. After the day’s activities conclude at Legacy Ranch\, participants are encouraged to head to Venus Park for the City of Edgewood’s fireworks show. Weedless spoons in weights from ¼ ounce to ¾ ounce are also easy to fish and effective. Spinner baits like the Redfish Magic can come in handy. Topwater baits like Super Spook Jr’s or Skitterwalks (white\, chrome\, or black) can be exciting. SUMMARY:Decoy Carving Clinic - Huntsville\, TX

Our volunteer boat owners are paying their way and are not professionals – nor are they licensed guides. No tips are allowed\, but gas in the tank and your share of other expenses is expected. Please bring cash to assist with boat gas\, ice\, and bait. Each volunteer boat owner will be assigned a fishing party each day. While we keep fathers and sons together\, usually you will be fishing with people you don’t know. This is done purposefully so please don’t be surprised. Additionally\, we will try to pair volunteer boat owners with parties suitable to their preferred method of fishing\, but please remember to be flexible as this won’t always be possible. \nVolunteer boat owners will be introduced to their parties in our meetings. Please see your volunteer boat owner for assistance and/or special needs regarding fishing. \nMeals: \nDinner will be provided for both Friday and Saturday night meals. Breakfast will be served on Saturday and Sunday mornings. Drinks and snacks will be available in limited amounts but plan to bring your favorite soft drinks.
