DESCRIPTION:“I’m going out to fish\,” Simon Peter told them\, and they said\, “We’ll go with you.” So they went out and got into the boat… John 21:3 \nPurpose: \nTo reach men with the gospel of Jesus Christ and build relationships that support the discipleship of these men. \nDate: \nSaturday\, May 23rd from 6:00 am until 2:00 pm. \nLocation: \nSurfside Beach Public Boat Ramp (Coast Guard Dr\, Surfside Beach\, TX  77541).  We will have lunch afterwards\, location announced at check in. \nRegistration:  \nFree!  Space is limited so register now.  We will prioritize opportunities for those who have not attended Blast & Cast events in the past.  Veteran Blast & Cast participants should find a way to volunteer and support the event. \nMinimum Age: Youth anglers must be accompanied by a guardian.  Limit one youth participant per adult guardian\, no exceptions. \nFishing: \nWe will have volunteers present along with their boats. Our volunteer boat owners are not licensed guides and are not being compensated for the trip. No tips are allowed\, but please bring cash to chip in for your portion of gas\, ice\, and bait.  Each volunteer boat owner will be assigned a fishing party that is suitable to their boat and style of fishing. While we keep fathers and sons together\, usually you will be fishing with people you don’t know. This is done purposefully so please don’t be surprised. Please be flexible in your style of fishing and plan to follow the lead of the boat owner you are assigned to.  Essentially\, treat this like a fishing trip with a friend… this is NOT a guided trip. \nParticipants will arrive at 6:00 am to be checked in and paired up for the day of fishing. \nMeals: \nAfter fishing\, everyone is invited to stay for lunch.  The lunch location will be announced at check in.  Please bring cash in case we head to a local restaurant. \nRules: \n\nNo perfect people allowed. Come as you are\, no pretending.\nAlcohol will not be allowed on boats but will be allowed in moderation after the boat is on the trailer.\nPlease be mindful of your language when youth participants are around.\nHave a good time.\n\nWhat to bring:  \n\nValid Texas saltwater fishing license\nEveryone should bring their own fishing poles and associated gear. It’s recommended to put fresh line on reels if you haven’t done so in the last few months. \nArtificial baits\, Paddle tail style baits are the easiest to fish. 3-4 models in glow/chartreuse\, red/white\, black/charreuse\, and pumpkinseed are the basics. Weedless spoons in weights from ¼ ounce to ¾ ounce are also easy to fish and effective. Spinner baits like the Redfish Magic can come in handy. Topwater baits like Super Spook Jr’s or Skitterwalks (white\, chrome\, or black) can be exciting. DESCRIPTION:“Again\, the kingdom of heaven is like a net that was thrown into the sea and gathered\nfish of every kind.” Mathew 13:47 ESV \nJoin us on beautiful Lake Livingston for 3 days of fishing for white bass\, catfish\, and hybrid stripers. \nPurpose: To enjoy a weekend of fishing and fun on Lake Livingston while creating relationships that point outdoorsmen to the cross. \nDates: June 12 – 14\, 2026 \nLodging: We will be staying at the beautiful Birdhouse on the Lake on the East shore of Lake Livingston. Lodging for Friday and Saturday nights is included. The address for the lake house is 6654 FM 3126\, Livingston\, TX 77351. The local bait shop is called Browns Creek Fish Camp\, which you will pass on the way to the ramp\, and is only a mile or so  away. They open at 5:30 AM.  We will launch boats early to get on the water by 6:45 AM. Sunrise is at 7:13 AM. We will have a very small tide swing meaning it is not expected to be very low\, but the lowest tide will be around 9:50 AM. We plan to meet at the ramp at 11:45 AM for lunch. After our time on the water\, we will group up shortly where we will share stories and hear a short devotional from TBD while enjoying some lunch that is provided. We have generous volunteers providing the boats\, so all you will need to bring is your own lucky fishing pole and gear.  Tips will not be allowed but help with fuel expenses and ice is appreciated.  You may want to consider bringing some snacks and drinks for yourself on the boat. \nPrizes:  We will reward the most successful fishing team with a TFO inshore spinning rod. \nMeals:  Please bring snacks and drinks to have on the boat. DESCRIPTION:Overview: The Central Texas Chapter of Blast & Cast will host a whitetail management hunt at Stillwater Refuge in Grapeland\, TX for boys only aged 7-17 during the 2026 Texas hunting season.  Participants will be selected via an application process. The application deadline is October 1\, 2026. \nCLICK HERE TO SUBMIT THE APPLICATION. \nPurpose: To build meaningful relationships with other outdoorsmen for the purpose of leading them to\, or back to\, Jesus Christ while simultaneously assisting the landowner with its whitetail population reduction efforts. \nDates: October 30 – November 1 – 2026 Youth Whitetail Hunt (Event Chair: Leigh Johannsen – Cell (804) 824-3058) \nCost:  Free.  This is a donor-supported event.  If you would like to help support the costs associated with the event\, please see the donations section below. \nLodging:  Lodging for all hunts is included.  Location and directions will be provided to hunt participants in advance of the hunt. \nMeals:  Meals for all hunts are included. \nGiveaways:  Each youth hunter will receive an event t-shirt. \nHunting:  The hunt will take place on private land.  Landowners and volunteers will be on hand to aid in transportation to and from hunting locations.  Blast & Cast volunteers will be available to sit with participants in the blind if requested.  Harvest goals will be set by the Ranch Property Manager.  Participants will be allowed to harvest one whitetail doe. \nRequirements: \n\nYouth boys only aged 7-17 are eligible\, and only youth may harvest game.  A parent or legal guardian must attend with the youth hunter\, and both parent and youth must have a valid TPWD hunting license.\nScoped centerfire rifles only. .243 caliber minimum. No archery and no shotguns.\nAll youth hunters must successfully pass a range and safety test prior to hunting. Each youth must be capable of consistently hitting a paper plate at 100 yards to participate.  Decision of the Range Boss to pass/fail is final.  Please sight in your rifle and have your youth hunter practice prior to the event.\nBoth parent and youth must wear a hunter orange cap and vest at all times in the field.\nAll rules and regulations for Texas Parks & Wildlife apply. It is suggested that you read all county regulations and download the TPWD app (https://tpwd.texas.gov/regulations/outdoor-annual/app/) prior to the hunt.  Youth hunters and guardians should familiarize themselves with antler restrictions.\nAll guns around camp must remain unloaded\, in a gun case\, and inside a locked vehicle at all times. No guns inside the lodge or camp area. During transport to and from hunting locations\, all guns must be kept unloaded with action open at all times. No guns should be loaded until the vehicle dropping off is out of sight.  Guns should be unloaded with action open at least ten minutes before arranged pick up times.\nHunters/parents are encouraged to mark where an animal was shot but may not leave sight of the blind.  A Blast & Cast volunteer will assist with wounded animal recovery.\nGutting your harvested animal at or near your hunting area will not be allowed. There will be designated areas to process game.\nHunters/parents must field dress and quarter their own animals.  Blast & Cast volunteers will be present to assist anyone that does not know how\nBE YOURSELF – please do not be someone you are not.\n\nDonations:  Donations and sponsorships are tax deductible!  These hunts are free to all participants\, so all costs associated will be covered by donations. No archery and no shotguns.\nAll youth hunters must successfully pass a range test prior to hunting. Each youth must be capable of consistently hitting a paper plate at 100 yards to participate.  Decision of the Range Boss to pass/fail is final.  Please sight in your rifle and have your youth hunter practice prior to the event.\nAll rules and regulations for Texas Parks & Wildlife apply. It is suggested that you read all county regulations and download the TPWD app (https://tpwd.texas.gov/regulations/outdoor-annual/app/) prior to the hunt.\nAll guns around camp must remain unloaded\, in a gun case\, and inside a locked vehicle at all times. No guns inside the lodge or camp area. During transport to and from hunting locations\, all guns must be kept unloaded with action open at all times. No guns should be loaded until the vehicle dropping off is out of sight.  Guns should be unloaded with action open at least ten minutes before arranged pick up times.\nHunters/parents are encouraged to mark where an animal was shot but may not leave sight of the blind.  A Blast & Cast volunteer will assist with wounded animal recovery.\nGutting your harvested animal at or near your hunting area will not be allowed. And be thankful.” Colossians 3:15 NIV \nPurpose:  To have the opportunity to have another event for the community of fisherman\, and create space where people can invite friends and get to know one another more and have honest gospel-centered conversations. \nDate:  Saturday\, November 14\, 2026 \nGuest Speaker:   TBD \nRegistration:  Ticket Cost: Adult/Youth Participants – $10.00   Volunteer Boat Owners – $10.00  \n*Space is limited\, so please register now. \nAge Limitations/Restrictions:  None.  All participants under the age of 18 must attend with a parent or guardian.  Limit 1 youth participant per parent/guardian. \nLocation:  Mike McCue Boat Ramp\, 2510 2nd Ave N\, Jacksonville Beach\, FL 32250 \nActivities:  Men in Jacksonville are invited to join us for a half-day of fishing the inshore coastal waters of Jacksonville\, FL.  We will meet at the Beach Blvd (Mike McCue) boat ramp the morning of November 14th. The local bait shop is called Jax Beach Bait and Tackle\, which is on the left-hand side of the road as you drive in (they open at 6:00 AM so be there early so you’re not late to our am meetup!).  We will launch boats and plan to leave the dock at 6:40 AM.  Sunrise is at 6:52 AM\, and the low tide is at 7:06 AM.  We plan to meet at the ramp at 11:30 AM.  After our time on the water\, we will group up shortly where we will share stories and hear a short devotional from a guest speaker before grabbing lunch at Dockside Seafood.  We have generous volunteers providing the boats\, so all you will need to bring is your own lucky fishing pole and gear.  Tips will not be allowed but help with fuel expenses and ice is appreciated.  You may want to consider bringing some snacks and drinks for yourself on the boat. \nPrizes:  We will give away a TFO inshore fishing rod. \nMeals:  Please bring snacks and drinks to have on the boat. We will gather for lunch afterward at Dockside Seafood located next to the boat ramp. \nRules: \n1. Please be on time and plan to stay until around 1:30 pm. \n2. No perfect people allowed. DESCRIPTION:Join us for a 3-day fishing trip in Venice\, LA! \n“Be watchful\, stand firm in the faith\, act like men\, be strong.” – 1 Corinthians 13:16 \nPurpose: \nDevelop a strong leadership team\, build a group of dedicated volunteers\, and share the gospel with outdoorsmen new to the faith. \nDates:  \nPrimary check-in will begin on Friday\, December 11\, 2026 from 11:00 am  at the lodge. If you will not be able to check in by 1:00 pm on Friday\, please let us know ahead of time. You can check in Friday evening after dark if necessary. *Volunteer boat owners must check in and be on site by noon on Friday. \nThe event will officially end at noon on Sunday\, December 13\, 2026. Everyone must check out by noon on Sunday. \nGuest Speaker:  TBD \nLodging:  Delta Dawn Guide Service Lodge – 153 Leroy Harvey Ln\, Buras\, LA  70091 \nRegistration:   First paid\, first reserved – Volunteer Boat Owners – $150.00 / Fisherman – $225.00 \nAge restrictions:  There is no minimum age restriction\, however\, all youth must be accompanied by a Parent or Guardian.  Liability Waiver to be signed at check in. \nFishing:  We will have volunteers present along with their boats. Our volunteer boat owners are paying their way and are not professionals – nor are they licensed guides. No tips are allowed\, but gas in the tank and your share of other expenses is expected. Please bring cash to assist with boat gas\, ice\, and bait. Each volunteer boat owner will be assigned a fishing party each day. While we keep fathers and sons together\, usually you will be fishing with people you don’t know. This is done purposefully so please don’t be surprised. Additionally\, we will try to pair volunteer boat owners with parties suitable to their preferred method of fishing\, but please remember to be flexible as this won’t always be possible. \nIf weather allows and we have the boats volunteer for the event\, we may fish offshore.  Only participants willing and able to split fuel\, tackle\, and ice expenses will be selected to fish offshore.  Volunteer boat owners will be introduced to their parties in our meetings. Weedless spoons in weights from ¼ ounce to ¾ ounce are also easy to fish and effective. Spinner baits like the Redfish Magic can come in handy. Topwater baits like Super Spook Jr’s or Skitter walks (white\, chrome\, or black) can be exciting. SUMMARY:Coastal TX | Youth Whitetail and Feral Hog Hunt
DESCRIPTION:Overview: The Coastal Texas Chapter of Blast & Cast will host a whitetail and feral hog hunt in Trinity County for boys aged 7-16 during the 2027 Texas hunting season.  Participants will be selected via an application process. The application deadline is September 15\, 2026. \nCLICK HERE TO COMPLETE THE APPLICATION \nPurpose: To build meaningful relationships with other outdoorsmen for the purpose of leading them to\, or back to\, Jesus Christ while simultaneously assisting landowners with whitetail and feral hog population reduction efforts. \nDates:  January 8-10\, 2027  (Please plan to be on site between noon and 1pm on Friday.) \nCost: Free.  This is a donor-supported event.  If you would like to help support the costs associated with the event\, please see the donations section below. \nLodging:  Lodging for the hunt is included.  Location and directions will be provided to hunt participants in advance of the hunt. \nMeals:  Meals for the hunt are included. \nGiveaways: Each youth hunter will receive an event t-shirt and a door prize. \nHunting: \nThe Trinity County hunt will take place on private land. Landowners and volunteers will be on hand to aid in transportation to and from hunting locations.  A Blast & Cast volunteer will sit with each father/child in the blind to help ensure that harvest goals and restrictions are met.  Participants will be allowed to harvest one whitetail doe and any feral hogs encountered. \nRequirements: \n\nYouth aged 7-17 are eligible\, and only youth may harvest game.  A male parent or legal guardian must attend with the youth hunter\, and both parent and youth must have a valid TPWD hunting license.\nScoped centerfire rifles only. .243 caliber minimum. No archery and no shotguns.\nAll youth hunters must successfully pass a range test prior to hunting. Each youth must be capable of consistently hitting a paper plate at 100 yards to participate.  Decision of the Range Boss to pass/fail is final.  Please sight in your rifle and have your youth hunter practice prior to the event.\nAll rules and regulations for Texas Parks & Wildlife apply. It is suggested that you read all county regulations and download the TPWD app (https://tpwd.texas.gov/regulations/outdoor-annual/app/) prior to the hunt.\nAll guns around camp must remain unloaded\, in a gun case\, and inside a locked vehicle at all times. No guns inside the lodge or camp area. During transport to and from hunting locations\, all guns must be kept unloaded with action open at all times. No guns should be loaded until the vehicle dropping off is out of sight.  Guns should be unloaded with action open at least ten minutes before arranged pick up times.\nHunters/parents are encouraged to mark where an animal was shot but may not leave sight of the blind.  A Blast & Cast volunteer will assist with wounded animal recovery.\nGutting your harvested animal at or near your hunting area will not be allowed. There will be designated areas to process game.\nHunters/parents must field dress and quarter their own animals.  Blast & Cast volunteers will be present to assist anyone that does not know how.\nNo consumption of alcoholic beverages allowed before or during hunting hours. Drinking in moderation will be allowed after hunting. Drunkenness will not be tolerated.\nBE YOURSELF; please do not be someone you are not.\n\nDonations:  Donations and sponsorships are tax deductible!  These hunts are free to all participants\, so all costs associated will be covered by donations. DESCRIPTION:“Greater love has no one than this\, than to lay down one’s life for his friends.” John 15:13 NKJV \nJoin us at Eagle Mountain Lake in Forth Worth\, Texas for 3 days of fishing and fellowship. \nPurpose:  This event is designed to build meaningful relationships with other outdoorsmen for the purpose of leading them to\, or back to\, Jesus Christ. \nLodging:  Camp Broadway\, 8400 Eagle Mountain Circle\, Fort Worth\, TX 76135. \nCost:  Adult Participants – $150; Youth Participants – $75; Volunteer Boat Owners – $0.  All meals and lodging are included. \nAge restrictions: Minimum age for participants is 7.  Minors must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.  Liability waiver to be signed at check-in. \nActivities: Check-in for the event will be Friday shortly after lunch. Once everyone is checked in\, we will begin our briefings\, meet your boat captains then depart for afternoon fishing. Friday evening will consist of dinner followed by our first devotional. If they choose to do so\, please replace it\nCash for boat gas\, ice\, or any live bait you would like to use\nSunscreen\, hat\, and sunglasses (prepare for all weather conditions)\nBed roll/sleeping bag/blanket\, pillow\, towel\, toiletries\nOutdoor sitting chair\nFilet knife and ziploc bags – please plan to clean your own fish if you choose to retain any\nCooler to bring fish home\nA willing attitude and eagerness to help make it work and have a good time.  Remember\, everyone there is a volunteer\, so set your expectations as though you are going on a weekend trip with friends.\n\nSuggested tackle:  Plan to fish for crappie\, white bass\, hybrid stripers\, and largemouth bass. Some boats\, particularly those with kids\, may pursue catfish. Each fisherman should bring their own rod. It’s recommended to put fresh line on reels if you haven’t done so in the last few months. Best artificial lures for hybrids and white bass are jigging spoons and swim jigs. Best artificial lures for largemouth bass are spinnerbaits\, crankbaits\, and soft plastics. For catfish\, cut bait\, shrimp\, and stink baits can be used but will require terminal tackle such as barrel weights\, swivels\, and circle hooks.
