DESCRIPTION:“And how can they hear about him unless someone tells them?” – ‭‭Romans‬ ‭10‬:‭14‬ ‭NLT‬‬\nPurpose: \nTo bring men together around the shared interest of the outdoors and fishing and to introduce or reintroduce them to the love of Jesus Christ through fellowship and His Gospel. \nDate:  Friday\, April 4\, 2025\, through Sunday\, April 6\, 2025\, at Elm Creek RV and Campgrounds \nRegistration:  \n\n$ 80.00 – Approved Volunteer Boat Owners\n$120.00 – Approved Volunteers\n$165.00 – Participant (16 yrs +)\n\nSpace is limited so register now.  We will prioritize opportunities for those who have not attended Blast & Cast events in the past.  Veteran Blast & Cast participants should find a way to volunteer and support the event. Volunteer Boat Owners must be approved by the event organizers. \nAge limitations/restrictions:  Minimum age is 16 years old. Youth participants must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. \nFishing: \nJoin us for a 3-Day fishing event designed to promote Christian fellowship and authenticity\, and to introduce the Gospel of Jesus Christ to outdoorsmen through the Central Texas Chapter of Blast & Cast Men’s Ministries. \nPrizes will be given out in three different categories: Traditional Gear\, Fly-Fishing Gear\, and Kayak Fisherman Gear. \nParticipants will receive daily boat assignments from our event organizers. \nMeals: \nPlease bring snacks and drinks to bring on the boat. \n\nFriday: Dinner on your own (Elm Creek Grill is open until 6 pm.)\nSaturday: Breakfast\, Lunch\, and Dinner provided.\nSunday Breakfast provided.\nThere is a Bait Store / Gas Station/ Restaurant at the location\n\nRules: \n\nNo perfect people allowed. Come as you are\, no pretending.\nAlcohol will not be allowed on boats but will be allowed in moderation after the boat is on the trailer.\nPlease be mindful of your language when youth participants are around.\nHave a good time.\n\nWhat to bring:  \n\nThere is a Bait Store / Gas Station / Restaurant at the location.\nValid Texas fishing license with freshwater endorsement.\nDrinks and Snacks for the boat.\nEveryone should bring their own fishing tackle and gear for bass/crappie fishing.  Please don’t expect volunteer boat owners to lend out their gear or tackle.\nFilet knife and Ziploc bags – plan to clean your own fish\, please.\nA cooler to bring fish home.\nSunscreen\, hat\, sunglasses.\nA willing attitude that’s eager to help make it work and have a good time – remember\, everyone there is a volunteer\, so set your expectations as though you are going on a weekend trip with friends.\n\nSuggested tackle:  \nPlan to fish for Bass and Crappie. Each fisherman should bring their own rod. Appropriate rods are medium-light to medium action\, 6-7ft long\, either spinning or bait-casting or a 5-8 weight Fly Rod with a sink tip or shooting head. For traditional gear\, 12lb test monofilament or 20-30lb test braided line is recommended. DESCRIPTION:“For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes\, His eternal power and divine nature\, have been clearly seen\, being understood through what has been made\, so that they are without excuse.” Romans 1:20 \nPurpose: To build meaningful relationships with other outdoorsmen for the purpose of leading them to\, or back to\, Jesus Christ. \nKeynote speaker: Dane LePlatt \nDates: Primary check-in begins on Thursday\, January 23rd at 7:00 pm.  If you will not be able to check in by 9:00 pm on Thursday\, please let us know ahead of time.  The event will officially end at 8:00 am on Sunday\, January 26th. \nLiability/Minors:  All participants will be required to sign a liability waiver at sign-in. Participants must be at least 16 years old for this event\, and all participants under age 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. \nLodging: LePlatt Lodge on the San Juan (https://lodge-san-juan.com/) \nRegistration: First registered first reserved! \nHunting:  We will hunt waterfowl on both public and private land on Friday and Saturday.  Participants have the option to hunt on their own Sunday morning after departing the lodge. \nThis is a buddy trip with friends\, not a guided trip. Each hunting participant is required to bring their own gear (listed below).  Participants should anticipate hiking into hunting locations.  We will have volunteers present (with decoys) to lead hunting parties each morning.  While we keep fathers and sons together\, usually you will be hunting with people you don’t know.  This is done purposefully so please don’t be surprised.  Please remember to be flexible and work together to make the event work. \nMeals: Meals will be provided for Friday and Saturday.  Plan to eat supper before you arrive Thursday night.  Plan to bring your favorite drinks and snacks. If you would like to be notified of a last-minute opening for participants\, please click on the ‘waiting list’ link below.  In your e-mail\, please include your cell phone number so that we can reach you quickly.[fusion_text]\nPurpose: To build meaningful relationships with other outdoorsmen for the purpose of leading them to\, or back to\, Jesus Christ. \nDate:  Friday\, January 3\, 2025 – Sunday\, January 5\, 2025\, at Pelican Bay Resort in Rockport\, TX \nKeynote Speaker:    Rob Purdy \nRegistration:  \n\n$250.00 – Adult Participant (13 yrs +)\n$150.00 – Youth Participants (12 yrs and under)\n$150.00 – Volunteer Boat Owners\n\nAge limitations/restrictions: All participants will be required to sign a liability waiver at check-in\, and participants under 18 years of age must have a parent\, grandparent\, or guardian present at the event. \nFlight Assignments: The event will be organized into Flights in order to ensure that new participants don’t get lost in the large group.  Each Flight will have a Flight Leader that will serve as the primary contact for all participants and a Flight Leader’s Assistant that will direct all hunting activities.  You will meet your Flight Leader after check-in. \nCheck-In/Check-Out: Check-in will be on Friday\, January 3rd\, from 12:30pm until 1:30pm at Cottage 1 near the front of the resort. Late check-in will be on Friday\, January 5th\, from 6:00pm until 7:00pm.   Please note that this is different than previous years\, as check-in is taking place on Friday… NOT Thursday. \nEarly check in will not be available.  Flights are expected to depart the resort for the evening hunt no later than 2pm\, so if you are unable to check in by 1:30pm you should anticipate missing the hunt on Friday evening and wait for late check in.  All boat owners must be on site no later than 1pm on Friday. \nThe event will end after the hunt the morning of Sunday\, January 5th.  Everyone must check out by noon on Sunday. \nLodging: We will stay at Pelican Bay Resort\, which is located at 4206 Texas Hwy 35 @ Pelican Bay Lane\, Rockport-Fulton\, Tx 78382.  Their phone numbers are 866-729-7177 (toll-free) and 361-729-7177.  You can obtain directions at www.pelicanbayresort.com\, and a map has been provided HERE.  Lodging will be provided for Friday and Saturday nights. \nHunting: All hunting takes place via volunteers who are donating the use of their boat and gear for the weekend. Each volunteer will be assigned a hunting party for the weekend at random.  While we keep fathers and sons together\, usually you will be hunting with people you don’t know.  This is done purposefully so please don’t be surprised.  Party assignments will be posted at your Flight HQ.  Please see your volunteer boat owner or your Flight Leader for assistance or special needs with regard to hunting. \nPlease note that our volunteer boat owners are receiving no compensation for their services and are paying for their spots at the event.  They are not professionals and are simply volunteering their boats\, gear\, and know-how so that you can have a good time.  Because of this\, please take the utmost care of their gear and plan to share in any expenses incurred (such as gas for the boat). \nDogs: All volunteer boat owners have the option of bringing their dogs.  Any hunters wishing to bring their dog should contact Taylor Henckel to make certain that arrangements can be made.  Dog owners should use extreme caution due to the high amount of shell in the areas we will hunt which can cause great harm to a dog if proper precautions are not taken.  Dogs can be kept inside the other rooms so long as they remain inside a kennel at all times while inside.  You will also be expected to clean up after your dog while outside of the hotel rooms. \nMeals: Dinner will be provided for Friday and Saturday night’s meals.  Breakfast will be served Saturday and Sunday mornings.   Drinks and snacks will be available in limited amounts.  It’s recommended that participants plan to eat lunch at one of the local restaurants in between hunts on Saturday and pack their favorite soft drinks and blind snacks. \nFreebies/Door Prizes: Door prizes and event t-shirts may be offered as donations and budget allow. \nDonations: Donations are tax deductible!  Our events do not operate at a profit so we are dependent on donations to fund the organization and maintain the low-cost nature of our events.  We are currently seeking individual\, corporate\, and church partnerships to assist in our effort to reach outdoorsmen.  Financial and merchandise donations are accepted. \nRules:  \n\nNo perfect people allowed.
