DESCRIPTION:“Be watchful\, stand firm in the faith\, act like men\, be strong. Let all that you do be done in love.” 1 Corinthians 16:13-14 \nRegistration:  \nFirst registered\, first reserved!  People who have attended the event before are STRONGLY encouraged to bring a guest who has never attended a Blast & Cast event. \nPurpose: \nTo build meaningful relationships with other outdoorsmen for the purpose of leading them to\, or back to\, Jesus Christ. \nKeynote speaker: \nTBD \nDates: \nPrimary check-in will begin on Friday\, April 25th from 1 pm until 2 pm at the lodge. If you will not be able to check in by 2pm on Friday\, please let us know ahead of time. You can check in Friday evening after dark if necessary. However\, all volunteer boat owners must check in by 1 pm. \nThe event will officially end at noon on Sunday\, April 27th. Everyone must check out by noon on Sunday. \nLiability/Minors: \nOpen to ages 7 years old and up. Once everyone is checked in\, briefings will begin\, you will meet your boat captain\, and then depart for afternoon fishing. Friday evening consists of dinner followed by our first devotional. Saturday morning begins with breakfast\, a short devotion\, and then we depart for fishing. Lunchtime is at the discretion of each group and usually depends on how the fishing is going. Afternoon fishing is also at the discretion of each group… either way\, you will be able to fish as much as you want. Saturday evening will be filled with hanging out under the lodge pavilion\, corn hole\, washers\, etc. After dinner\, we will close with a devotion and door prizes. Sunday morning will include a grab-and-go breakfast\, fishing until around lunchtime\, and then depart for home. \nWe will have volunteers present along with their boats. Our volunteer boat owners are paying their way and are not professionals – nor are they licensed guides. No tips are allowed\, but gas in the tank and your share of other expenses is expected. Please bring cash to assist with boat gas\, ice\, and bait. Each volunteer boat owner will be assigned a fishing party each day. While we keep fathers and sons together\, usually you will be fishing with people you don’t know. This is done purposefully so please don’t be surprised. Additionally\, we will try to pair volunteer boat owners with parties suitable to their preferred method of fishing\, but please remember to be flexible as this won’t always be possible. \nVolunteer boat owners will be introduced to their parties in our meetings. Please see your volunteer boat owner for assistance and/or special needs regarding fishing. \nMeals: \nDinner will be provided for both Friday and Saturday night meals. Breakfast will be served on Saturday and Sunday mornings. Drinks and snacks will be available in limited amounts but plan to bring your favorite soft drinks. Some boats\, particularly those with kids\, may pursue catfish. Each fisherman should bring their own rod. It’s recommended to put fresh lines on reels if you haven’t done so in the last few months. \nThe best artificial lures for hybrids and white bass are jigging spoons and swim jigs. The best artificial lures for largemouth bass are spinnerbaits\, crankbaits\, and soft plastics. For catfish\, cut bait\, shrimp\, and stink baits can be used but will require terminal tackle such as barrel weights\, swivels\, and circle hooks. This is some of the fastest and hottest cooler filling action that Lake Conroe has to offer. While taking in all of the sights and action\, you will meet new friends and have the chance to have some meaningful conversation. After we return to the ramp\, we will have a great meal provided and get to listen to a great message. Each volunteer will be assigned a hunting party for the weekend at random.  While we keep fathers and sons together\, usually you will be hunting with people you don’t know.  This is done purposefully so please don’t be surprised.  Party assignments will be posted at your Flight HQ.  Please see your volunteer boat owner or your Flight Leader for assistance or special needs with regard to hunting. \nPlease note that our volunteer boat owners are receiving no compensation for their services and are paying for their spots at the event.  They are not professionals and are simply volunteering their boats\, gear\, and know-how so that you can have a good time.  Because of this\, please take the utmost care of their gear and plan to share in any expenses incurred (such as gas for the boat). \nDogs: All volunteer boat owners have the option of bringing their dogs.  Any hunters wishing to bring their dog should contact Taylor Henckel to make certain that arrangements can be made.  Dog owners should use extreme caution due to the high amount of shell in the areas we will hunt which can cause great harm to a dog if proper precautions are not taken.  Dogs can be kept inside the other rooms so long as they remain inside a kennel at all times while inside.  You will also be expected to clean up after your dog while outside of the hotel rooms. \nMeals: Dinner will be provided for Friday and Saturday night’s meals.  Breakfast will be served Saturday and Sunday mornings.   Drinks and snacks will be available in limited amounts.  It’s recommended that participants plan to eat lunch at one of the local restaurants in between hunts on Saturday and pack their favorite soft drinks and blind snacks. \nFreebies/Door Prizes: Door prizes and event t-shirts may be offered as donations and budget allow. \nDonations: Donations are tax deductible!  Our events do not operate at a profit so we are dependent on donations to fund the organization and maintain the low-cost nature of our events.  We are currently seeking individual\, corporate\, and church partnerships to assist in our effort to reach outdoorsmen.  Financial and merchandise donations are accepted. \nRules:  \n\nNo perfect people allowed. Come as you are\, no pretending.\nNo drunkenness. Alcohol in moderation is allowed only after hunting is done for the day. Safety is a must!\nPlease watch profanity.
