DESCRIPTION: “Greater love has no one than this\, than to lay down one’s life for his friends.” John 15:13 NKJV \nJoin us at Eagle Mountain Lake in Forth Worth\, Texas for 3 days of fishing and fellowship. \nPurpose:  This event is designed to build meaningful relationships with other outdoorsmen for the purpose of leading them to\, or back to\, Jesus Christ.  We will have a guest speaker who will challenge us each day with a devotion. \nLodging:  Camp Broadway\, 8400 Eagle Mountain Circle\, Fort Worth\, TX 76135.  https://broadwaybc.org/camp-broadway/ \nCost: $150 for Adult/Youth Participants.  $0 for Volunteer Boat Owners. This cost includes meals and lodging. \nAge restrictions: Minimum age for participants is 7+.  Minors must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. \nFishing: We will be fishing for crappie\, white bass\, hybrid stripers\, and largemouth bass.  Some boats\, particularly those with kids\, may pursue catfish.  Each fisherman should bring their own rod.  It’s recommended to put fresh line on reels if you haven’t done so in the last few months.  Best artificial lures for hybrids and white bass are jigging spoons and swim jigs. Best artificial lures for largemouth bass are spinnerbaits\, crankbaits\, and soft plastics. For catfish\, cut bait\, shrimp\, and stink baits can be used but will require terminal tackle such as barrel weights\, swivels\, and circle hooks. There are a few choices for bait and tackle around the lake\, but suggest you shop in advance as much as possible. \nMeals:  All meals included. \nGiveaways: If you’d like to donate door prizes or fishing tackle\, please contact Andrew Green or Kevin Seibold. \nRules: \nPerfect people are not allowed. Everyone must check out by 11:00 am on Sunday. \nLodging and Meals: We will be lodging and dining with the fabulous Horn\, Fin\, and Feather on the El Sauz Ranch located just outside of Port Mansfield.  Participants will enjoy breakfasts and dinners prepared by the onsite chef.  You can find more information about Horn\, Fin\, and Feather at Horn Fin Feather.  Participants should be prepared to pack lunches to bring on the boat for Friday and Saturday as most boats will stay out through the afternoon. \nFishing: We will be wading Port Mansfield for trophy speckled trout at this event\, with all day wades and lunch on the boat anticipated for both Friday and Saturday. \nAll participants should be ready and able to wade fish with artificial lures.  While our volunteers are always happy to give some instruction and assistance\, each participant is responsible for bringing their own fishing gear and tackle and should be largely self-sufficient on the water. \nAll fishing takes place via volunteers who are donating the use of their boat (and fuel) for the weekend. DESCRIPTION:Join us for a 3-day dove hunting and saltwater fishing trip at Oak Island\, Texas!\n“Follow me\, and I will make you fishers of men.” Jesus (Matthew 4:19) \nPurpose: To build meaningful relationships with other outdoorsmen for the purpose of leading them to\, or back to\, Jesus Christ. \nKeynote speaker: TBD \nDates:  \nPrimary check-in will begin on Friday\, October 24th from 10:30 am until 12:00 pm at the lodge. If you will not be able to check in by noon on Friday\, please let us know ahead of time. The event will officially end at noon on Sunday\, October 26th. Everyone must check out by noon on Sunday. Volunteers must check in and be on site by 11:00 am on Friday. \nLodging:  \nWe will stay at the Oak Island Lodge\, which is located at 202 Jackson Dr\, Anahuac TX\, 77514. Website: www.oakislandlodge.net. \nRegistration:  \nMen of all ages and skill levels welcome.  First registered first reserved!  If you have been to a Blast & Cast event in the past\, please make every effort to bring someone new to the event.  Participants under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Limit one youth participant per parent/guardian\, no exceptions. \nHunting: All participants will have the option to dove hunt both evenings on a nearby field with Jim West Guide Service.  Please note that the cost of dove hunting is not covered in the registration fees.  Those who choose to dove hunt will pay the outfitter directly when you show up at the field each day.  Cash only\, $100 per adult hunter.  Youth aged 13 and under hunt free with a paying adult\, and youth aged 14-17 hunt half price.  Each participant will need to bring their own shotgun\, shells\, stool\, and any other gear necessary to hunt on their own and clean their own birds.  Volunteers will help shuttle participants to and from the dove fields each evening. \nFishing:  All participants will have the option to go fishing on Trinity Bay\, East Galveston Bay\, and/or Sabine Lake all three days of the event.  Volunteer boat owners will be present to take everyone fishing. Each participant will need to bring their own rods\, reels\, tackle\, and any other gear necessary\, and plan to clean your own fish should you choose to retain any.  Fishing is covered in the registration fees. \nPlease note that our volunteer boat owners are paying their way and are not professionals\, nor are they licensed guides. No tips are allowed\, but participants should bring cash to help split expenses like gas\, ice\, and bait. Each volunteer boat owner will be assigned a fishing party each day. Please be there early\, so you are not late to our am meetup!) Everyone will return to the ramp at 11:30 am\, where we will hear a short message from Juan Carranza while enjoying some catered BBQ. We have generous volunteers providing the boats\, so all you need to bring is your own lucky fishing pole and gear. Tips are not allowed\, but help with fuel expenses and ice is appreciated. You may want to bring snacks and drinks for yourself on the boat. While fathers and sons stay together\, we try to pair anglers with people that they do not know to help make new relationships… so don’t be surprised by this. \nPrizes: \nThe most successful fishing team will earn a small reward. \nMeals: \nPlease bring snacks and drinks to have on the boat. When the flood waters recede\, expect to find speckled trout and flounder. Each fisherman should bring their own fishing rod and gear. Appropriate rods are medium-light to medium action\, 6-7ft long\, either spinning or bait-casting. 12lb test monofilament or 20-30lb test braided line is sufficient. DESCRIPTION:Overview: Blast & Cast will be hosting three hunts at Proctor Lake in Comanche County for boys and girls aged 7-17 during the 2025 Texas hunting season.  Participants will be selected via an application process.  The application deadline is September 15\, 2025. \nPurpose: To build meaningful relationships with other outdoorsmen for the purpose of leading them to\, or back to\, Jesus Christ while simultaneously assisting landowners with whitetail and feral hog population reduction efforts. \nDates: \nOctober 24-26 -  Comanche County Boys Hunt (Event Chair: Leigh Johannsen – Cell (804) 824-3058) \nNovember 21-23 – Comanche County Boys Hunt (Event Chair: Robert Herman – Cell (940) 799-8420) \nDecember 5-7 – Comanche County Girls Hunt (Event Chair: Jerrod Hancock – Cell (254) 485-4887) \nCost:  Free.  This is a donor-supported event.  If you would like to help support the costs associated with the event\, please see the donations section below. \nLodging:  Lodging for all hunts is included.  Location and directions will be provided to hunt participants in advance of the hunt. \nMeals:  Meals for all hunts are included. \nGiveaways:  Each youth hunter will receive an event t-shirt and a door prize. \nHunting: \nAll Comanche County hunts will take place on land owned and operated by the Army Corps of Engineers surrounding Lake Proctor.  Park staff will be on hand to aid in transportation to and from hunting locations.  Blast & Cast volunteers will be available to sit with participants in the blind if requested.  Harvest goals and limits will be established by park staff prior to the season\, but limits usually include at least two whitetail does and any feral hogs encountered. \nRequirements: \n\nYouth aged 7-17 are eligible\, and only youth may harvest game.  A parent or legal guardian must attend with the youth hunter\, and both parent and youth must have a valid TPWD hunting license.\nScoped centerfire rifles only. .243 caliber minimum. No archery and no shotguns.\nAll youth hunters must successfully pass a range and safety test prior to hunting. Each youth must be capable of consistently hitting a paper plate at 100 yards to participate.  Decision of the Range Boss to pass/fail is final.  Please sight in your rifle and have your youth hunter practice prior to the event.\nBoth parent and youth must wear a hunter orange cap and vest at all times in the field.\nAll rules and regulations for Texas Parks & Wildlife apply. It is suggested that you read all county regulations and download the TPWD app (https://tpwd.texas.gov/regulations/outdoor-annual/app/) prior to the hunt.  Youth hunters and guardians should familiarize themselves with antler restrictions.\nAll guns around camp must remain unloaded\, in a gun case\, and inside a locked vehicle at all times. No guns inside the lodge or camp area. During transport to and from hunting locations\, all guns must be kept unloaded with action open at all times. No guns should be loaded until the vehicle dropping off is out of sight.  Guns should be unloaded with action open at least ten minutes before arranged pick up times.\nHunters/parents are encouraged to mark where an animal was shot but may not leave sight of the blind.  A Blast & Cast volunteer will assist with wounded animal recovery.\nGutting your harvested animal at or near your hunting area will not be allowed. There will be designated areas to process game.\nHunters/parents must field dress and quarter their own animals.  Blast & Cast volunteers will be present to assist anyone that does not know how.\nNo consumption of alcoholic beverages allowed before or during hunting hours. Volunteer Boat Owners must check in and be on site by 1:00 pm on Friday. \nLodging:  \nWe will stay at the Fisherman’s Cove Lodge\, which is located at 1860 TX-309\, Kerens\, TX 75144. We’ll spend our days fishing for crappie\, white bass\, hybrid stripers\, largemouth bass\, and catfish in assigned boats. After our evening meals\, we will hear words of encouragement and challenge from a keynote speaker. \nCheck-in for the event is on Friday (9/5/25) at 3:00 pm. Once everyone is checked in\, we will begin our briefings\, meet your boat captains\, and then depart for afternoon fishing. Friday evening will consist of dinner followed by our first devotional. Saturday morning will begin with breakfast\, short devotion\, and then depart for fishing. Lunchtime will be at each group’s discretion and usually depends on how the fishing goes. Afternoon fishing is also at the discretion of each group…either way\, you will be able to fish as much as you want. Saturday evening will be filled with hanging out under the lodge pavilion\, corn hole\, washers\, etc. After dinner\, we will close with a devotion. Sunday morning will begin with breakfast\, fish until around lunchtime\, and then depart for home. \nWe will have volunteers present along with their boats. Our volunteer boat owners are paying their way and are not professionals – nor are they licensed guides. No tips are allowed\, but gas in the tank and your share of other expenses is expected. Please bring cash to assist with boat gas\, ice\, and bait. Each volunteer boat owner will be assigned a fishing party each day. While we keep fathers and sons together\, usually you will be fishing with people you don’t know. This is done purposefully so please don’t be surprised. Additionally\, we will try to pair volunteer boat owners with parties suitable to their preferred method of fishing\, but please remember to be flexible as this won’t always be possible. \nVolunteer boat owners will be introduced to their parties in our meetings. Please see your volunteer boat owner for assistance and/or special needs regarding fishing. Adults should be prepared to wade if physically able. Bring wading shoes and any other gear that you have. SUMMARY:2025-2026 East Texas Youth Whitetail and Feral Hog Hunts
DESCRIPTION:Overview: Blast & Cast will be hosting two hunts in East Texas for boys aged 7-17 during the 2025-2026 Texas hunting season.  Participants will be selected via an application process.  Applicants may apply for both hunts with a single application.  The application deadline is September 1\, 2025. \nPurpose: To build meaningful relationships with other outdoorsmen for the purpose of leading them to\, or back to\, Jesus Christ while simultaneously assisting landowners with whitetail and feral hog population reduction efforts. \nDates: \nOctober 24-26 – Trinity/Houston County Boys Hunt (Event Chair: David park – cell (936) 788-4006) \nJanuary 9-11 – Trinity County Boys Hunt (Event Chair: Lance Efird – cell (281) 253-2885) \nCost:  Free.  This is a donor-supported event.  If you would like to help support the costs associated with the event\, please see the donations section below. \nLodging:  Lodging for all hunts is included.  Location and directions will be provided to hunt participants in advance of the hunt. \nMeals:  Meals for all hunts are included. \nGiveaways:  Each youth hunter will receive an event t-shirt and a door prize. \nHunting: \nAll Houston County and Trinity County hunts will take place on private land.  Landowners and volunteers will be on hand to aid in transportation to and from hunting locations.  A Blast & Cast volunteer will sit with each father/child in the blind to help ensure that harvest goals and restrictions are met.  Participants will be allowed to harvest one whitetail doe and any feral hogs encountered. \nRequirements: \n\nYouth aged 7-17 are eligible\, and only youth may harvest game.  A male parent or legal guardian must attend with the youth hunter\, and both parent and youth must have a valid TPWD hunting license.\nScoped centerfire rifles only. .243 caliber minimum. No archery and no shotguns.\nAll youth hunters must successfully pass a range test prior to hunting. Each youth must be capable of consistently hitting a paper plate at 100 yards to participate.  Decision of the Range Boss to pass/fail is final.  Please sight in your rifle and have your youth hunter practice prior to the event.\nAll rules and regulations for Texas Parks & Wildlife apply. It is suggested that you read all county regulations and download the TPWD app (https://tpwd.texas.gov/regulations/outdoor-annual/app/) prior to the hunt.  Youth hunters and guardians should familiarize themselves with antler restrictions.\nAll guns around camp must remain unloaded\, in a gun case\, and inside a locked vehicle at all times. No guns inside the lodge or camp area. During transport to and from hunting locations\, all guns must be kept unloaded with action open at all times. No guns should be loaded until the vehicle dropping off is out of sight.  Guns should be unloaded with action open at least ten minutes before arranged pick up times.\nHunters/parents are encouraged to mark where an animal was shot but may not leave sight of the blind.  A Blast & Cast volunteer will assist with wounded animal recovery.\nGutting your harvested animal at or near your hunting area will not be allowed. There will be designated areas to process game.\nHunters/parents must field dress and quarter their own animals.  Blast & Cast volunteers will be present to assist anyone that does not know how.\nNo consumption of alcoholic beverages allowed before or during hunting hours. Drinking in moderation will be allowed after hunting. Drunkenness will not be tolerated.\nBE YOURSELF…please do not be someone you are not.\n\nDonations:  Donations and sponsorships are tax deductible!  These hunts are free to all participants\, so all costs associated will be covered by donations. DESCRIPTION:“While walking by the Sea of Galilee\, he saw two brother\, Simon and Andrew his brother\, casting a net into the sea\, for they were fishermen.  And he said to them\, “Follow me\, and I will make you fishers of men.”  Immediately they left their nets and followed him.” Matthew4:18-20 \nPurpose: \nTo point outdoorsmen to the cross by building relationships and enjoying a budget friendly blue-water fishing trip that is suitable for all ages. \nDate:  Tuesday\, July 29\, 2025 \nGuest Speaker:  Johnny Roubion \nRegistration: Children ages 7 and up are welcome to join us.  Wives and daughters are welcome to join us.  We have 20 spots booked on the boat for this event\, first paid first reserved.  If you need to cancel\, we won’t be able to issue a refund unless we have another angler ready to take your place.  If the charter boat cancels\, we will refund all participants in full. \nCost:  Adult participants (ages 13 and up) $140\, youth participants (ages 7-12) $90 \nActivities:  Spend a day of fishing and relationship building on the beautiful deep blue water of the gulf with Blast & Cast Men’s Ministries and Galveston Party Boats targeting red and vermilion snapper.  Other species may be captured depending on season and legal size limits\, but red and vermillion snapper will be the main target fish.  Plan to arrive by 6:00am and gather in the parking lot for a short devotion and prayer time.  The boat will return to Galveston at approximately 7:30pm. \nHow to find us at the dock:  Galveston Party Boats is located at Pier 19. \nThe address is:  1700 Harborside Dr\, Galveston\, TX  77550 \nFrom Houston\, travel South on Interstate 45 (Gulf Freeway) to Galveston. Upon crossing the Causeway\, exit Harborside Drive. Turn left onto Harborside\, and continue to Downtown Galveston. From Harborside\, enter at 20th Street. \nARRIVE EARLY – PARKING IS LIMITED. There is a parking lot across from the boat’s office on Pier 19 that is run by the Port of Galveston. The cost for parking is $16 per day and credit/debit card payments are accepted at the parking lot kiosk. While we keep fathers and sons together\, usually you will be fishing with people you don’t know. This is done purposefully so please don’t be surprised. Additionally\, we will try to pair volunteer boat owners with parties suitable to their preferred method of fishing\, but please remember to be flexible as this won’t always be possible. \nVolunteer boat owners will be introduced to their parties in our meetings. Please see your volunteer boat owner for assistance and/or special needs with regard to fishing. Adults should be prepared to wade if physically able. Bring wading shoes and any other gear that you have. If you have extra gear that others could borrow\, please throw it in. \nMeals:  \nDinner will be provided for both Friday and Saturday night meals. On Saturday and Sunday mornings we will serve breakfast. A limited supply of drinks and snacks will be available to take on the fishing trips but plan to bring your favorite soft drinks. Leftovers will be available for lunches\, but most parties will eat out based on their fishing location and schedule. \nFreebies: We will give out door prizes on Saturday night. This is NOT a guided trip.\n\nSuggested tackle:   \n\nPlan to fish for trout\, redfish\, and flounder. (Some boats\, particularly those with kids\, may target other species.) Each fisherman must bring their own rod and reel. Appropriate rods are medium-light to medium action\, 6-7ft long\, either spinning or bait-casting. Monofilament line is typically 12lb test\, braided line is typically 20-30lb test. We recommend that you put fresh line on reels if you haven’t done so recently.\nLive bait – Live bait fishermen should have a supply of egg sinkers\, swivels\, 20-30lb test leader material\, 3/0 circle or kahle style hooks for croaker\, number 6 treble hooks for shrimp\, and popping corks.\nArtificial bait – Paddle tail-style baits are the easiest to fish. 3-4’’ models in glow/chartreuse\, limetreuse\, red/white\, and pumpkinseed are the basics. Topwater baits like Super Spook Jr’s or Skitterwalks (white\, chrome\, or black) can be exciting. Gulp shrimp tails fished under a popping cork can also be effective and kid-friendly.\n\nThere is a store in Matagorda with tackle. All youth must attend with a parent or guardian. \nFishing: \nJoin us to enjoy a morning of bass and/or crappie fishing on Houston County Lake near Crockett\, TX. We will meet at the Crockett Lakefront RV Resort & Marina in front of the store and launch the boats at the marina after boat assignments and a quick prayer. After a morning of fishing\, we will meet back at the store to have lunch\, share stories\, and hear a devotion.  All boats are owned and operated by volunteers\, not guides\, so participants should bring their own fishing gear and expect to split any expenses.
