SUMMARY:NTX | 3-Day Hog Hunt & Predator Trapping Event
DESCRIPTION:“I have heard of You by the hearing of the ear; but now my eyes sees You.”  Job 42:5 NKJV \nJoin us for a 3-Day Hog Hunt and Predator Trapping Event in Cisco\, Texas! \nPurpose: To build meaningful relationships with other outdoorsmen for the purpose of leading them to\, or back to\, Jesus Christ. \nSpeaker: TBD \nDates:  Primary check-in will begin on Friday\, January 29 from 12:00 pm at the house. If you will not be able to check in by noon on Friday\, please let us know ahead of time. The event will officially end at 12:00 pm on Sunday\, January 31st. Everyone must check out by noon on Sunday. Volunteers must check in and be on site by 11:00 am on Friday. \nLodging: We will be staying at a private residence at Stormy Creek Ranch.  The address to the Ranch will be provided to participants prior to the event. \nLiability/Minors:  All participants will be required to sign a liability waiver at check in.  Participants must be at least 16 years old for this event\, and all participants under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Limit one youth participant per parent/guardian\, no exceptions. \nRegistration:  First registered first reserved!  If you have been to a Blast & Cast event in the past\, please make every effort to bring someone new to the event. \nHunting:  Come join us for a fun weekend of hog hunting and predator trapping. We will be night hunting over feeders and baited areas for hogs. If you have a thermal scoped rifle\, bring it. If not\, we will set up green lights\, and your regular scoped rifle will work. During the day we will be setting dirt sets for coyotes and bobcats\, raccoon traps and hog snares. If you don’t know how to set traps we will show you. If you have traps that you would like to bring you can\, but we should have plenty.  All meals will be provided but you are encouraged to bring your favorite snacks and drinks. We will be staying in a beautiful home overlooking the property. Where we will be sharing meals\, fellowship\, and devotional time together. \nMeals:  All meals are included. \nGiveaways: Hats \nRules:  \n\nPerfect people are not allowed. Come as you are\, no pretending.\nNo drunkenness. DESCRIPTION:Purpose: Enjoy the unique opportunity to fish for trophy trout and to be challenged and encouraged by the Word of God. \nPLEASE NOTE: THIS IS A WADE-FISHING TRIP INTENDED TO FOCUS ON TROPHY SPECKLED TROUT. PARTICIPANTS MUST BE WILLING TO WADE WITH THEIR OWN GEAR AND BE SELF-SUFFICENT WHILE WADING. NEW ANGLERS AND THOSE WISHING TO BRING CHILDREN SHOULD ATTEND ONE OF OUR SPRING/SUMMER FISHING EVENTS. \nDate:  Thursday\, February 25\, 2027 – Sunday\, February 28\, 2027 \nGuest Speaker: Rob Purdy \nRegistration:  \n\n$395 – Adult Participants (Age 16+)\n$250 – Volunteer Boat Owners\n\nAge limitations/restrictions: The minimum age for this event is 16 years old.  All participants will be required to sign a liability waiver at check-in\, and participants under 18 years of age must have a parent\, grandparent\, or guardian present at the event. \nCheck-In/Check-Out: Primary check-in will take place on Thursday\, February 25 at 6:00 pm at the lodge. Everyone must check out by 11:00 am on Sunday. \nLodging and Meals: We will be lodging and dining with the fabulous Horn\, Fin\, and Feather on the El Sauz Ranch located just outside of Port Mansfield.  Participants will enjoy breakfasts and dinners prepared by the onsite chef.  You can find more information about Horn\, Fin\, and Feather at Horn Fin Feather.  Participants should be prepared to pack lunches to bring on the boat for Friday and Saturday as most boats will stay out through the afternoon. \nFishing: We will be wading Port Mansfield for trophy speckled trout at this event\, with all day wades and lunch on the boat anticipated for both Friday and Saturday. \nAll participants should be ready and able to wade fish with artificial lures.  While our volunteers are always happy to give some instruction and assistance\, each participant is responsible for bringing their own fishing gear and tackle and should be largely self-sufficient on the water. \nAll fishing takes place via volunteers who are donating the use of their boat (and fuel) for the weekend. Each volunteer will be assigned a party each day.  While we keep fathers and sons together\, usually you will be fishing with people you don’t know.  This is done purposefully so please don’t be surprised.  Please note that our volunteer boat owners are receiving no compensation for their services and are paying for their spots at the event.  They are not professionals and are simply volunteering their boats and know-how so that you can have a good time.  Because of this\, please take the utmost care of their gear and plan to share in any expenses incurred (such as gas for the boat). \nDonations: Donations are tax deductible!  Our events do not operate at a profit so we are dependent on donations to fund the organization and maintain the low-cost nature of our events.  We are currently seeking individual\, corporate\, and church partnerships to assist in our effort to reach outdoorsmen.  Financial and merchandise donations are accepted.  If you would like to be a part of the Blast & Cast mission\, please contact us at info@blastandcast.org for more information. \nRules:  \n\nNo perfect people allowed. DESCRIPTION:“Greater love has no one than this\, than to lay down one’s life for his friends.” John 15:13 NKJV \nJoin us at Eagle Mountain Lake in Forth Worth\, Texas for 3 days of fishing and fellowship. \nPurpose:  This event is designed to build meaningful relationships with other outdoorsmen for the purpose of leading them to\, or back to\, Jesus Christ. \nLodging:  Camp Broadway\, 8400 Eagle Mountain Circle\, Fort Worth\, TX 76135. \nCost:  Adult Participants – $150; Youth Participants – $75; Volunteer Boat Owners – $0.  All meals and lodging are included. \nAge restrictions: Minimum age for participants is 7.  Minors must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.  Liability waiver to be signed at check-in. \nActivities: Check-in for the event will be Friday shortly after lunch. Once everyone is checked in\, we will begin our briefings\, meet your boat captains then depart for afternoon fishing. Friday evening will consist of dinner followed by our first devotional. Saturday morning will begin with breakfast\, a short devotion then depart for fishing. Lunchtime will be at each groups’ discretion at one of the restaurants on the water and usually depends on how the fishing goes. Afternoon fishing is also at the discretion of each group…either way you will be able to fish as much as you want. Saturday evening will be filled with hanging out at Camp Broadway’s 48 acres including the main cabin\, firepit\, and hiking trails. Some boats\, particularly those with kids\, may pursue catfish. Each fisherman should bring their own rod. It’s recommended to put fresh line on reels if you haven’t done so in the last few months. Best artificial lures for hybrids and white bass are jigging spoons and swim jigs. Best artificial lures for largemouth bass are spinnerbaits\, crankbaits\, and soft plastics. For catfish\, cut bait\, shrimp\, and stink baits can be used but will require terminal tackle such as barrel weights\, swivels\, and circle hooks.
