DESCRIPTION:Join us for a 3-day fishing trip in Houma\, LA! \n“Iron sharpens iron\, and one man sharpens another.” – Proverbs 27:17 \nPurpose: \nTo point outdoorsmen to the cross. \nDates:  \nPrimary check-in will begin on Friday\, May 2nd from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm at the lodge. If you will not be able to check in by 1:00 pm on Friday\, please let us know ahead of time. You can check in Friday evening after dark if necessary. *Volunteer boat owners must check in and be on site by noon on Friday. \nThe event will officially end at noon on Sunday\, May 4th. Everyone must check out by noon on Sunday. \nLodging: \nWe will have two private camp houses for the event. Primary check-in will be held at: \n118 Theriot Voisin Bridge Rd\nTheriot LA  70397 \nBig thanks to Carl Primeaux and J.P. Solis for the use of their lodges! \nRegistration:   \nFirst paid\, first reserved. \nFishing: \nWe will have volunteers present along with their boats. Our volunteer boat owners are paying their way and are not professionals nor are they licensed guides. No tips are allowed\, but gas in the tank and your share of other expenses is expected. Please bring cash to assist with boat gas\, ice\, and bait. Each volunteer boat owner will be assigned a fishing party each day. While we keep fathers and sons together\, usually you will be fishing with people you don’t know. This is done purposefully so please don’t be surprised. Additionally\, we will try to pair volunteer boat owners with parties suitable to their preferred method of fishing\, but please remember to be flexible as this won’t always be possible. \nVolunteer boat owners will be introduced to their parties in our meetings. Please see your volunteer boat owner for assistance and/or special needs with regard to fishing. \nMeals: \nDinner is provided for both Friday and Saturday night meals. Breakfast will be served on Saturday and Sunday morning. A limited supply of drinks and snacks will be available to take on the fishing trips but plan to bring your favorite soft drinks. Leftovers will be available for lunches\, but most parties will eat out based on their fishing location and schedule. The weather could be hot or cold at this time of year.\nSaltwater fishing license for Louisiana\nFilet knife and Ziploc bags\, plan to clean your own fish\, please.\nA cooler to bring fish home.\nA willing attitude thats eager to help make it work and have a good time & remember\, everyone there is a volunteer\, so set your expectations as though you are going on a weekend trip with friends.\n\nSuggested tackle:   \nPlan to fish for redfish in the Bayou Dularge area. Each fisherman should bring their own rod. Appropriate rods are medium-light to medium action\, 6-7ft long\, either spinning or bait-casting. Monofilament line is typically 12lb test\, braided line is typically 20-30lb test. It’s recommended to put fresh line on reels if you haven’t done so in the last few months. \nArtificial baits\, Paddle tail style baits are the easiest to fish. 3-4 models in glow/chartreuse\, red/white\, black/charreuse\, and pumpkinseed are the basics. Weedless spoons in weights from ¼ ounce to ¾ ounce are also easy to fish and effective. Spinner baits like the Redfish Magic can come in handy. Topwater baits like Super Spook Jr’s or Skitterwalks (white\, chrome\, or black) can be exciting. DESCRIPTION:While walking by the Sea of Galilee\, he saw two brothers\, Simon (who is called Peter) and Andrew his brother\, casting a net into the sea\, for they were fishermen.  And he said to them\, “Follow me\, and I will make you fishers of men.” Immediately they left their nets and followed him.  Matthew 4:18-20 \nRegistration:  \nFirst registered\, first reserved! \nPurpose: \nTo reach men from the Lubbock\, Texas area with the Gospel through the shared experience of fishing. We also hope to build and strengthen relationships with volunteers as we build a base of people who will help grow Blast & Cast Men’s Ministries in the region. \nDates: \nPrimary check-in will begin on Friday\, May 2\, 2025\, from 1:00 – 2:00 pm at the lodge. If you will not be able to check in by 2:00 pm on Friday\, please let us know ahead of time. You can check in Friday evening after dark if necessary. DESCRIPTION:Volunteer Boat Owner tickets are still available; however\, if you would like to be notified of last-minute Participant openings\, please click on the ‘waiting list’ link below.  In your e-mail\, please include your cell phone number so that we can reach you quickly.\n“I’m going out to fish\,” Simon Peter told them\, and they said\, “We’ll go with you.” So they went out and got into the boat… John 21:3 \nPurpose: \nTo reach men with the gospel of Jesus Christ and build relationships that support the discipleship of these men. \nDate: \nSaturday\, May 24th from 6:00 am until 2:00 pm. \nLocation: \nSurfside Beach Public Boat Ramp (Coast Guard Dr\, Surfside Beach\, TX  77541).  We will have lunch at a local restaurant after fishing. \nRegistration:  \nFree!  Space is limited so register now.  We will prioritize opportunities for those who have not attended Blast & Cast events in the past.  Veteran Blast & Cast participants should find a way to volunteer and support the event. \nMinimum Age: Youth anglers must be accompanied by a guardian.  Limit one youth participant per adult guardian\, no exceptions. \nFishing: \nWe will have volunteers present along with their boats. Our volunteer boat owners are not licensed guides and are not being compensated for the trip. No tips are allowed\, but please bring cash to chip in for your portion of gas\, ice\, and bait.  Each volunteer boat owner will be assigned a fishing party that is suitable to their boat and style of fishing. While we keep fathers and sons together\, usually you will be fishing with people you don’t know. This is done purposefully so please don’t be surprised. Please be flexible in your style of fishing and plan to follow the lead of the boat owner you are assigned to.  Essentially\, treat this like a fishing trip with a friend… this is NOT a guided trip. \nParticipants will arrive at 6:00 am to be checked in and paired up for the day of fishing. \nMeals: \nAfter fishing\, everyone is invited to a group lunch at a local restaurant at 1pm.  The lunch location will be announced at check in.  Please bring cash to cover your lunch. \nRules: \n\nNo perfect people allowed.
