The town and especially the men who make their living on the water have been affected. Thanks to our generous volunteers providing the boats\, all you need to bring is your favorite fishing pole and gear. While tips are not permitted\, contributions toward fuel and ice are appreciated. Matthew 16:18 (NKJV) \nThank you for the tremendous response to the 2026 Alaska Construction Project.  Sign-ups for this first season are now complete\, but last minute opportunities to join us in Alaska may arise.  If you’d like to be on our standby list for late openings\, please register using the free waitlist ticket. \nPurpose:  To build “The Rock” Lodge on Prince of Wales Island\, Alaska; strengthen relationships of current Blast & Cast volunteers and staff; and introduce the local community to Blast & Cast Men’s Ministries.  When completed\, “The Rock” Lodge will be used to facilitate the hosting of low-cost\, budget-friendly Blast & Cast events in Alaska. \nProject Description:  Volunteers will assist in the construction of “The Rock” Lodge.  All interested construction volunteers will answer a series of questions that will help the Event Chairman schedule volunteers based on the timeline of construction and each volunteer’s construction skills and specialties. \nLength of Stay: Minimum stay of one week; arriving at the Lodge on Saturday and departing the Lodge the following Saturday.  Maximum stay of two weeks unless previously approved by Event Chairman. \nLiability/Minors:  All participants will be required to sign a liability waiver. Participants must be at least 16 years old for this event\, and all participants under age 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. \nLodging:  The cost of lodging is included and will be provided at Christmas Creek Cabin\, Coffman Cove\, Alaska 99918 \nMeals:  Food/beverages are included (excluding alcohol) \nOther Costs: \n\nAirfare to/from Alaska (approximately $500-$700 round trip);\nAlaska Inter-Island Ferry from Ketchikan\, AK to Hollis\, AK (approx. $130/round trip);\nFishing Boat fuel (approx. $150);\nAny additional snacks/drinks;\nAlaska fishing license/King Salmon stamp\n\nFishing: In addition to construction work\, we will incorporate Salmon and Halibut Ocean fishing\, Salmon and Trout freshwater fishing\, and whale watching. \nLicenses:  An Alaska fishing license is required (it is recommended to also purchase a King Salmon Stamp) \nRules: No perfect people allowed. It’s recommended to put fresh line on reels if you haven’t done so in the last few months. \nArtificial baits\, Paddle tail style baits are the easiest to fish. 3-4 models in glow/chartreuse\, red/white\, black/charreuse\, and pumpkinseed are the basics. Weedless spoons in weights from ¼ ounce to ¾ ounce are also easy to fish and effective. Spinner baits like the Redfish Magic can come in handy.
