SUMMARY:Cedar Key\, FL - 1 Day Saltwater Fishing Event
DESCRIPTION:Matthew 4:19 – “Follow me; and I will make you fishers of men.”  \nJoin us in Cedar Key\, Florida\, on Saturday\, May 2\, 2026\, for a 1-day saltwater fishing event. \nPurpose: Cedar Key has been devastated by four hurricanes. The town and especially the men who make their living on the water have been affected. We want to build community and plant the Vision of Blast & Cast Men’s Ministries. \nDate: May 2\, 2026 – (6:00 am – 1:00 pm) \nContact info: \n– Tom Ryan – tcrjr1@gmail.com or 803-586-7149 \n– Jason Lowe – jlowe1787@gmail.com or 352-362-0656. \nLodging: Lodging at Webb B&B is available on a limited first-come\, first-serve basis for men coming from out of town. Contact Jason Lowe for details. \nCost: Adult and Youth Participants – $20.00 / Approved Volunteer Boat Owners – Free \nAge restrictions: Minimum age for participants is 10 years old. Parent or guardian must accompany children under 18 years old. \nFishing: Everyone is welcome to join us for a half-day of fishing along the coastal waters of Cedar Key\, FL. We will target redfish and speckled trout. \nWe will meet at the boat ramp on Saturday morning\, May 2nd. Boats will launch at 6:45 a.m.\, just before sunrise at 7:00 a.m. We will return to the ramp by 11:30 a.m. Following a brief message from our guest speakers\, Tom Ryan and Jason Lowe\, we will head to a local restaurant for lunch. Thanks to our generous volunteers providing the boats\, all you need to bring is your favorite fishing pole and gear. While tips are not permitted\, contributions toward fuel and ice are appreciated. Don’t forget to pack snacks and drinks for the boat! \nEach participant will be assigned to a boat at the welcome meeting. While we keep fathers and sons together\, usually you will fish with people you don’t know. This is done purposefully\, so please don’t be surprised. We will try to pair volunteer boat owners with participants who are suitable for their preferred method of fishing. Please remember to be flexible because this won’t always be possible.  Volunteer boat owners will be introduced to their parties at the welcome meeting. Please see your volunteer boat owner for assistance and/or special needs regarding fishing. \nMeals: Lunch at a local restaurant. \nGiveaways: A small reward will be presented to the most successful fishing team at the event. *Note: Please contact the event organizers if you would like to donate door prizes or fishing tackle. \nRules: \n– Perfect people are not allowed. Come as you are\, no pretending. \n– No drunkenness. Alcohol in moderation is allowed\, but not on the boats\, please. \n– Please help keep the environment kid-friendly. \n– Have a good time. \nWhat to bring:  \n– Valid Florida saltwater fishing license.
