To share God’s Word and Love with everyone attending and participating in the event.\u00a0 Plant seeds to expand God’s Kingdom and to establish relationships that go beyond the event and multiply over time.\u00a0 To have a great time on and off the water.<\/p>\n

Activities:<\/strong><\/p>\n

Everyone is invited to join us for a half-day of fishing on the coastal waters of Jacksonville, FL.\u00a0 We will meet at Palm Valley boat ramp on the morning of March 7, 2026. The local bait shop is called Palm Valley Outdoors, which is next to the East ramp (They open at 6:00 AM. Get there early so you\u2019re not late to our am meet up). We will launch boats to get on the water by 6:45 AM. Sunrise is at 7:00 AM. We plan to meet at the ramp at 11:30. After our time on the water, we will group up shortly, where we will share stories and hear a short devotional from Darren Horst before grabbing lunch at Palm Valley Outdoors Restaurant.<\/p>\n

We have generous volunteers providing the boats, so all you will need to bring is your own lucky fishing pole and gear.\u00a0 Tips will not be allowed, but help with fuel expenses and ice is appreciated.\u00a0 You may want to consider bringing some snacks and drinks for yourself on the boat.<\/p>\n

Prizes:<\/strong><\/p>\n

We will reward the most successful fishing team with some Blast & Cast towels.<\/p>\n

Meals:<\/strong><\/p>\n

Please bring snacks and drinks to have on the boat. We will gather for lunch afterward at Palm Valley Outdoors Restaurant, located next to the boat ramp.<\/p>\n

Rules:<\/strong><\/p>\n

1. Please be on time and plan to stay until around 1:00 pm.<\/p>\n

2. No perfect people allowed. Come as you are, no pretending.<\/p>\n

3. Alcohol will not be allowed on boats, but will be allowed in moderation after the boat is on the trailer.<\/p>\n

4. Please be mindful of your language when youth participants are around.<\/p>\n

5. Have a good time.<\/p>\n

What to bring:\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

– Valid Florida saltwater fishing license<\/p>\n

– Drinks and snacks for the boat.<\/p>\n

– Parents – Please provide a life vest for all youth participants.<\/p>\n

– Everyone should bring their own fishing tackle and gear for a morning of redfish, trout, and flounder fishing.\u00a0 Please don’t expect volunteer boat owners to lend out their gear or tackle.<\/p>\n

– If you want to keep fish, bring what is necessary to clean your own catch and take it home.<\/p>\n

– Sunscreen, hat, sunglasses.<\/p>\n

– Rain gear if necessary.<\/p>\n

– A willing attitude that\u2019s eager to help make it work and have a good time \u2013 remember, everyone there is a volunteer, so set your expectations as though you are going on a weekend trip with friends.<\/p>\n

Suggested tackle:\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

We will target redfish, trout, and flounder in the shallow marsh of Jax Beach.\u00a0 Low tide is at 7:00 AM.\u00a0 This time of year, you can expect to find redfish in schools in the creeks and flounder in the creek mouths.\u00a0 Each fisherman should bring their own fishing rod and gear.\u00a0 Appropriate rods are medium to medium-heavy action, 6-7ft long, either spinning or bait-casting,15-20 lb line. We recommend putting fresh line on reels if you haven\u2019t done so in the last few months.<\/p>\n
