Blast & Cast Men’s Ministries

Incorporated in 2008, Blast & Cast Men’s Ministries is a non-denominational Christian outreach ministry that utilizes the common bonds of hunting and fishing to reach outdoorsmen. As we commonly say, we are pointing outdoorsmen to the cross.

At Blast & Cast, our number one focus is reaching men who can normally be found in a fishing boat or a hunting blind on Sunday mornings. We feel that churches have the opportunity to reach their members and attendees on any given Sunday morning, but being outside of the church and inside a boat or blind presents an opportunity that the local church doesn’t have – namely, to reach those who aren’t in the pews.



Blast & Cast Men’s Ministries is seeking to hire a part-time Administrative Assistant in the Houston, Texas area. The primary responsibility will be administering all aspects of Blast & Cast’s finances. Hours may vary each week based on workload (monthly close, tax filings, etc.) but will average 8 hours per week.


Major Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Provide accurate accounting of all financial transactions
  • Cash management forecasting and reporting
  • Ensure proper procedural controls are developed and followed
  • Payroll processing
  • Perform monthly bank reconciliations
  • Prepare month end financial reports for the board of directors
  • Coordinate annual audit with CPA
  • Oversight of cash, check, and online donations and software platforms
  • Provide end of year donation statement summaries
  • Other duties as assigned by Executive Director


Qualifications / Core Competencies

  • Follower of Jesus Christ rooted in the Bible, the inerrant Word of God
  • Use of all Microsoft Office software
  • Experience with QuickBooks online
  • Accounting and budgeting skills
  • General accounting experience
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule; work from home office & attend meetings as needed throughout the year
  • Preference given to someone that lives in the greater Houston area or willing to move in the first few months
