Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged\, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.” Joshua 1:9 NIV \nPurpose: \nTo share God’s Word and Love with everyone attending and participating in the event.  Plant seeds to expand God’s Kingdom and to establish relationships that go beyond the event and multiply over time.  To have a great time on and off the water. \nDate:  Saturday\, May 9\, 2026 \nGuest Speaker:   TBD \nRegistration:  \nTicket Cost: Youth/Adult Participants – $10.00 / Volunteer Boat Owners – $10.00  \n*Space is limited\, so please register now. \nAge Limitations/Restrictions: All participants under the age of 18 must attend with a parent or guardian.  Limit 1 youth participant per parent/guardian. \nLocation: \nPalms Restaurant & Boat Ramp\, 6359 Heckscher Drive\, Jacksonville\, FL 32226 \nActivities: \nEveryone is invited to join us for a half-day of fishing the coastal waters of Jacksonville\, FL.  We will meet at the Palms fish camp boat ramp the morning of May 9th. The local bait shop is called Browns Creek Fish Camp\, which is on the right-hand side of the road as you drive in (they open at 6 so be there early so you’re not late to our am meetup!). We will launch boats to get on the water by 6:30 AM. Sunrise is at 6:36 AM and the low tide will be at 9:45. We plan to meet at the ramp at 11. After our time on the water\, we will group up shortly where we will share stories and hear a short devotional from TBD before grabbing lunch at Palms Fish Camp. \nWe have generous volunteers providing the boats\, so all you will need to bring is your own lucky fishing pole and gear.  Tips will not be allowed but help with fuel expenses and ice is appreciated.  You may want to consider bringing some snacks and drinks for yourself on the boat. \nPrizes: \nWe will reward the most successful fishing team with some Blast & Cast towels. \nMeals: \nPlease bring snacks and drinks to have on the boat. We will gather for lunch afterward at Palms Fish Camp\, located next to the boat ramp. \nRules: \n1. Please be on time and plan to stay until around 1:00 pm. \n2. No perfect people allowed. Come as you are\, no pretending. \n3. Alcohol will not be allowed on boats\, but will be allowed in moderation after the boat is on the trailer. \n4. Please be mindful of your language when youth participants are around. \n5. Have a good time. \n6. Please be sure to keep track of your time and follow the Schedule of events below. \nWhat to bring:  \n– Valid Florida saltwater fishing license \n– Drinks and snacks for the boat. \n– Parents – Please provide a life vest for all youth participants. \n– Everyone should bring their own fishing tackle and gear for a morning of redfish\, speckled trout\, and flounder fishing.  Please don’t expect volunteer boat owners to lend out their gear or tackle. \n– If you want to keep fish\, bring what is necessary to clean your own catch and take it home. \n– Sunscreen\, hat\, sunglasses. \n– Rain gear if necessary. \n– A willing attitude that’s eager to help make it work and have a good time – remember\, everyone there is a volunteer\, so set your expectations as though you are going on a weekend trip with friends. \nSuggested tackle:  \nWe will target redfish\, trout\, and flounder in the shallow marsh of Jax Beach.  Low tide is at 9:45 AM.  This time of year\, you can expect to find redfish in schools in the creeks and flounder in the creek mouths.  Each fisherman should bring their own fishing rod and gear.  Appropriate rods are medium to medium-heavy action\, 6-7ft long\, either spinning or bait-casting\,15-20 lb line. SUMMARY:Mosquito Lagoon - 3 Day Fishing Event
DESCRIPTION:“Again\, the kingdom of heaven is like a net that was thrown into the sea and gathered fish of every kind” Matthew 13:47 \nJoin us in Oak Hill\, FL for a 3-day saltwater fishing event on Mosquito Lagoon and Merritt Island State Park \nPurpose: The event is designed to build community and intentional time in the Word. \nDates: June 26-28\, 2026 \nLodging:  We will be staying at Oak Hill Fish Camp.  Lodging for Friday and Saturday nights is included in the cost. \nThe address for the camp is: 426 E HALIFAX AVE\, OAK HILL\, FL 32759.  The website is located at oakhillfishcamp.com. \nCost: $250 for fishermen\, $200 for volunteers bringing a boat to the event.  This cost includes lodging\, most meals\, t-shirt\, and fishing on volunteers’ boats throughout the event. \nAge restrictions: Minimum age for participants is 16.  All minors must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. \nFishing: Volunteers will be bringing boats to provide fishing opportunities.  Please bring your own tackle.  We expect to be fishing the flats and Mangroves; inshore for redfish\, speckled trout\, and snook primarily\, but where and how you fish will be up to the boat owner.  Our volunteer boat owners are paying their way and are not professionals – nor are they licensed guides. No tips are allowed\, but split expenses like gas\, ice\, and bait. Each volunteer boat owner will be assigned a fishing party each day. While we keep fathers and sons together\, usually you will be fishing with people you don’t know. This is done purposefully so please don’t be surprised. \nWe will try to pair volunteer boat owners with parties suitable to their preferred method of fishing\, but please remember to be flexible as this won’t always be possible.  Volunteer boat owners will be introduced to their parties in our meetings. Please see your volunteer boat owner for assistance and/or special needs with regard to fishing. \nMeals: Dinner for Friday and Saturday evening will be provided.  Breakfast for Saturday and Sunday morning will be provided.  For lunch on Saturday\, our plan is to meet up at a local restaurant on the water.  Please bring some cash to cover your lunch. \nGiveaways: If you’d like to donate door prizes or fishing tackle\, please contact Alec Gunn at the email listed below. \nRules: \n–  Perfect people are not allowed. If they choose to do so\, please replace it. \n*  Cash for boat gas\, ice\, or any live bait you would like to use \n*  An open mind\, an open heart\, and a good attitude.  Remember\, everyone there is a volunteer\, so set your expectations as though you are going on a weekend trip with friends \nSuggested tackle:  \n\nPlan to fish for speckled trout\, redfish\, and snook. Each fisherman must bring their own rod and reel. Appropriate rods are medium-light to medium action\, 6-7ft long\, either spinning or bait-casting. Monofilament line is typically 12lb test\, braided line is typically 20-30lb test. We recommend that you put fresh line on reels if you haven’t done so recently.\n\nArtificial bait – Paddle tail-style baits are easy to fish and effective. 3-4’’ models in glow/chartreuse\, limetreuse\, red/white\, and pumpkinseed are the basics. Topwater baits like Super Spook Jr’s or Skitterwalks (white\, chrome\, or black) can be exciting.
