SUMMARY:NTX - Breckenridge 1-Day Dove Hunt
DESCRIPTION:“that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead\, you will be saved.” Romans 10:9 \nPurpose: \nTo build meaningful relationships with other outdoorsmen for the purpose of leading them to\, or back to\, Jesus Christ. \nRegistration: \n\nAdult Participants (18 yrs+) – $40.00\nYouth Participants (under 18) – $40.00  Youth participants must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.  Limit one youth participant per parent/guardian\, no exceptions.\n\nHunting: \nJoin us for a Texas dove hunt! We will hunt on Saturday\, September 26\, 2026 at JNL Ranch near Breckenridge\, TX. \nAs part of our discounted agreement for youth hunters\, adults will not shoot birds to fill limits for the youth. We will observe all applicable laws and regulations and pick up our spent shells. Plan to clean your own birds. \nLunch: \nAfter hunting we will meet at the Ranch for lunch which will be provided for all participants.  Some drinks will be provided with the meal\, but it is recommended that participants bring their own drinks while in the field.  Alcohol will not be allowed prior to or during the hunt. \nRules: \n\nPerfect people are not allowed. Come as you are\, no pretending.\nAlcohol will not be allowed prior to or during the hunt but may be consumed in moderation after all firearms are put away.\nPlease helps us keep the environment kid-friendly by limiting profanity.\nHave a good time.\n\nWhat to bring:   \n\nValid Texas Hunting License with Migratory bird endorsement\, HIP certification and proof of hunter’s education\nEveryone should bring their own shotgun (with plug) and shells\nSunscreen\, bug spray\, hat\, sunglasses\, and/or rain gear\, depending on the weather\nCamo or earth-tone clothing and boots\nMojo dove decoy (optional)\nKnife and Ziploc bags – plan to clean your own birds\nA cooler and ice\nDrinks and snacks for in the field\nDove stool or chair to sit on in the field\nA willing attitude that’s eager to help make it work and have a good time.  Remember\, everyone helping is a volunteer so set your expectations as though you are going on a weekend trip with friends.\nBring plenty of shells. The average is 5 to 7 shots for every downed dove. SUMMARY:NTX - 2026 Proctor Lake Youth Whitetail & Feral Hog Hunts
DESCRIPTION:Overview:  The North Texas Chapter of Blast & Cast will host two hunts at Proctor Lake in Comanche County for boys and girls aged 7-17 during the 2026 Texas hunting season.  Participants will be selected via an application process. The application deadline is September 15\, 2026.  \nCLICK HERE TO SUBMIT THE APPLICATION. \nPurpose: To build meaningful relationships with other outdoorsmen and women for the purpose of leading them to\, or back to\, Jesus Christ while simultaneously assisting landowners with whitetail and feral hog population reduction efforts. \nDates: \nNovember 20-22 – Comanche County Girls Hunt (Event Chair: Jerrod Hancock – Cell (254) 485-4887) \nDecember 11-13 – Comanche County Boys Hunt (Event Chair:  Andrew Green – Cell (817) 395-2233) \nCost:  Free.  This is a donor-supported event.  If you would like to help support the costs associated with the event\, please see the donations section below. \nLodging:  Lodging for all hunts is included.  Location and directions will be provided to hunt participants in advance of the hunt. \nMeals:  Meals for all hunts are included. \nGiveaways:  Each youth hunter will receive an event t-shirt and a door prize. \nHunting: \nAll Comanche County hunts will take place on land owned and operated by the Army Corps of Engineers surrounding Lake Proctor.  Park staff will be on hand to aid in transportation to and from hunting locations.  Blast & Cast volunteers will be available to sit with participants in the blind if requested.  Harvest goals and limits will be established by park staff prior to the season\, but limits usually include at least two whitetail does and any feral hogs encountered. \nRequirements: \n\nYouth aged 7-17 are eligible\, and only youth may harvest game.  A parent or legal guardian must attend with the youth hunter\, and both parent and youth must have a valid TPWD hunting license.\nScoped centerfire rifles only. .243 caliber minimum. No archery and no shotguns.\nAll youth hunters must successfully pass a range and safety test prior to hunting. Each youth must be capable of consistently hitting a paper plate at 100 yards to participate.  Decision of the Range Boss to pass/fail is final.  Please sight in your rifle and have your youth hunter practice prior to the event.\nBoth parent and youth must wear a hunter orange cap and vest at all times in the field.\nAll rules and regulations for Texas Parks & Wildlife apply. It is suggested that you read all county regulations and download the TPWD app (https://tpwd.texas.gov/regulations/outdoor-annual/app/) prior to the hunt.  Youth hunters and guardians should familiarize themselves with antler restrictions.\nAll guns around camp must remain unloaded\, in a gun case\, and inside a locked vehicle at all times. No guns inside the lodge or camp area. During transport to and from hunting locations\, all guns must be kept unloaded with action open at all times. No guns should be loaded until the vehicle dropping off is out of sight.  Guns should be unloaded with action open at least ten minutes before arranged pick up times.\nHunters/parents are encouraged to mark where an animal was shot but may not leave sight of the blind.  A Blast & Cast volunteer will assist with wounded animal recovery.\nGutting your harvested animal at or near your hunting area will not be allowed. There will be designated areas to process game.\nHunters/parents must field dress and quarter their own animals.  Blast & Cast volunteers will be present to assist anyone that does not know how.\nNo consumption of alcoholic beverages allowed before or during hunting hours. Drinking in moderation will be allowed after hunting. Drunkenness will not be tolerated.\nBE YOURSELF – please do not be someone you are not.\n\nMore info:  Schedules and directions will be provided to selected applicants prior to each hunt. \nApplications: Due to space limitations\, not every applicant will be selected for a hunt.  The application deadline is September 15.  Selected applicants will be notified via e-mail and telephone.  If additional openings become available later in the year\, hunt coordinators may reach out to additional applicants. \nDonations:  Donations and sponsorships are tax deductible!  These hunts are free to all participants\, so all costs associated will be covered by donations. DESCRIPTION:“Greater love has no one than this\, than to lay down one’s life for his friends.” John 15:13 NKJV \nJoin us at Eagle Mountain Lake in Forth Worth\, Texas for 3 days of fishing and fellowship. \nPurpose:  This event is designed to build meaningful relationships with other outdoorsmen for the purpose of leading them to\, or back to\, Jesus Christ. \nLodging:  Camp Broadway\, 8400 Eagle Mountain Circle\, Fort Worth\, TX 76135. \nCost:  Adult Participants – $150; Youth Participants – $75; Volunteer Boat Owners – $0.  All meals and lodging are included. \nAge restrictions: Minimum age for participants is 7.  Minors must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.  Liability waiver to be signed at check-in. \nActivities: Check-in for the event will be Friday shortly after lunch. Once everyone is checked in\, we will begin our briefings\, meet your boat captains then depart for afternoon fishing. Friday evening will consist of dinner followed by our first devotional. Saturday morning will begin with breakfast\, a short devotion then depart for fishing. Lunchtime will be at each groups’ discretion at one of the restaurants on the water and usually depends on how the fishing goes. Afternoon fishing is also at the discretion of each group…either way you will be able to fish as much as you want. Saturday evening will be filled with hanging out at Camp Broadway’s 48 acres including the main cabin\, firepit\, and hiking trails. Some boats\, particularly those with kids\, may pursue catfish. Each fisherman should bring their own rod. It’s recommended to put fresh line on reels if you haven’t done so in the last few months. Best artificial lures for hybrids and white bass are jigging spoons and swim jigs. Best artificial lures for largemouth bass are spinnerbaits\, crankbaits\, and soft plastics. For catfish\, cut bait\, shrimp\, and stink baits can be used but will require terminal tackle such as barrel weights\, swivels\, and circle hooks.
