SUMMARY:WTX - Lake Alan Henry - 3-Day Fishing Event
DESCRIPTION:While walking by the Sea of Galilee\, he saw two brothers\, Simon (who is called Peter) and Andrew his brother\, casting a net into the sea\, for they were fishermen.  And he said to them\, “Follow me\, and I will make you fishers of men.” Immediately they left their nets and followed him.  Matthew 4:18-20 \nRegistration:  \nFirst registered\, first reserved! \nPurpose: \nTo reach men from the Lubbock\, Texas area with the Gospel through the shared experience of fishing. We also hope to build and strengthen relationships with volunteers as we build a base of people who will help grow Blast & Cast Men’s Ministries in the region. \nDates: \nPrimary check-in will begin on Friday\, May 1\, 2026\, from 1:00 – 2:00 pm at the lodge. If you will not be able to check in by 2:00 pm on Friday\, please let us know ahead of time. You can check in Friday evening after dark if necessary. However\, all volunteer boat owners must check in by 1:00 pm. \nThe event will officially end at noon on Sunday\, May 3\, 2026. Everyone must check out by noon on Sunday. \nLiability/Minors: \nAll participants will be required to sign a liability waiver at sign-in.  Participants under 18 years of age must have a parent or guardian present at the event. \nLodging: \nWe will be staying at Lake Alan Henry Lodges\, which is located at: \n2361 FM 2458\nJusticeburg TX 79330 \n       Click Here for a map. \nCost: \n\nVolunteer Boat Owners – $85.00\nParticipants (13 yrs +) – $170.00\n\nFishing:   \nWe will have volunteers present along with their boats. Our volunteer boat owners are paying their way and are not professionals – nor are they licensed guides. No tips are allowed\, but gas in the tank and your share of other expenses is expected. Please bring cash to assist with boat gas\, ice\, and bait. Each volunteer boat owner will be assigned a fishing party each day. Usually\, you will be fishing with people you don’t know. This is done purposefully so please don’t be surprised. Additionally\, we will try to pair volunteer boat owners with parties suitable to their preferred method of fishing\, but please remember to be flexible as this won’t always be possible. \nVolunteer boat owners will be introduced to their parties in our meetings. Please see your volunteer boat owner for assistance and/or special needs with regard to fishing. \nMeals: \nDinner will be provided for both Friday and Saturday night meals. Breakfast will be served on Saturday and Sunday mornings. Lunch will be provided on Saturday.  Drinks and snacks will be available in limited amounts but plan to bring your favorite soft drinks. \nRules:  \n\nPerfect people are not allowed. Come as you are\, no pretending.\nNo drunkenness. Alcohol in moderation is allowed\, but not on the boats\, please.\nNo profanity. We want to keep the environment kid-friendly.\nHave a good time.\n\nWhat to bring:   \n\nValid Texas fishing license with freshwater endorsement.\nPlease bring your own fishing gear if you have it.  We plan to fish for bass\, crappie\, and catfish\, so make sure to bring appropriate lures or live bait tackle.  If you have questions about what tackle you need\, feel free to reach out to us.   If you borrow something from a volunteer\, please replace it if you lose or break it.\nIf you borrow something from a volunteer\, please replace it if you lose or break it.\nCash for boat gas.\nSunscreen\, hat\, and sunglasses\nFilet knife and Ziploc bags – plan to clean your own fish\, please.\nCooler to bring fish home (if you want to)\nA willing attitude that’s eager to help make it work and have a good time – remember\, everyone there is a volunteer\, so set your expectations as though you are going on a weekend trip with friends.\n\nContact info: \nThe event co-chairmen are John Todd and Tim Bergara.
