Volunteer Boat Owners must be approved by the event organizers. \nAge limitations/restrictions:  Minimum age is 16 years old. Youth participants must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. \nFishing: \nJoin us for a 3-Day fishing event designed to promote Christian fellowship and authenticity\, and to introduce the Gospel of Jesus Christ to outdoorsmen through the efforts of the Central Texas Chapter. \nThere will be prizes given out in two different categories: Traditional Gear and Fly-Fishing Gear. \nParticipants will receive daily boat assignments from our event organizers. \nMeals: \nPlease bring snacks and drinks to bring on the boat. \n\nFriday: Dinner on your own (Elm Creek Grill is open until 6 pm.)\nSaturday: Breakfast\, Lunch\, and Dinner provided.\nSunday Breakfast provided.\nThere is a Bait Store / Gas Station/ Restaurant at the location\n\nRules: \n\nNo perfect people allowed. DESCRIPTION:While walking by the Sea of Galilee\, he saw two brothers\, Simon (who is called Peter) and Andrew his brother\, casting a net into the sea\, for they were fishermen.  And he said to them\, “Follow me\, and I will make you fishers of men.” Immediately they left their nets and followed him.  Matthew 4:18-20 \nRegistration:  \nFirst registered\, first reserved! \nPurpose: \nTo reach men from the Lubbock\, Texas area with the Gospel through the shared experience of fishing. We also hope to build and strengthen relationships with volunteers as we build a base of people who will help grow Blast & Cast Men’s Ministries in the region. \nDates: \nPrimary check-in will begin on Friday\, May 1\, 2026\, from 1:00 – 2:00 pm at the lodge. If you will not be able to check in by 2:00 pm on Friday\, please let us know ahead of time. You can check in Friday evening after dark if necessary. However\, all volunteer boat owners must check in by 1:00 pm. \nThe event will officially end at noon on Sunday\, May 3\, 2026. The town and especially the men who make their living on the water have been affected. We will target redfish and speckled trout. \nWe will meet on Saturday morning\, May 2nd at the Gazebo a half block north of the boat ramp on the corner of A and 2nd streets prior to going to the boat ramp.  Boats will launch at 6:45 a.m.\, just before sunrise at 7:00 a.m. We will return to the ramp by 11:30 a.m. Following a brief message from our guest speakers\, Tom Ryan and Jason Lowe\, we will head to a local restaurant for lunch. Thanks to our generous volunteers providing the boats\, all you need to bring is your favorite fishing pole and gear. While tips are not permitted\, contributions toward fuel and ice are appreciated. Don’t forget to pack snacks and drinks for the boat! \nEach participant will be assigned to a boat at the welcome meeting. The local bait shop is called Browns Creek Fish Camp\, which is on the right-hand side of the road as you drive in (they open at 6 so be there early so you’re not late to our am meetup!). We will launch boats to get on the water by 6:30 AM. Sunrise is at 6:36 AM and the low tide will be at 9:45. We plan to meet at the ramp at 11. After our time on the water\, we will group up shortly where we will share stories and hear a short devotional from TBD before grabbing lunch at Palms Fish Camp. \nWe have generous volunteers providing the boats\, so all you will need to bring is your own lucky fishing pole and gear.  Tips will not be allowed but help with fuel expenses and ice is appreciated.  You may want to consider bringing some snacks and drinks for yourself on the boat. \nPrizes: \nWe will reward the most successful fishing team with some Blast & Cast towels. \nMeals: \nPlease bring snacks and drinks to have on the boat.
