Purpose:
To build meaningful relationships with other outdoorsmen for the purpose of leading them to, or back to, Jesus Christ.
Activity:
Carve and paint your own custom duck decoy under the tutelage of veteran-carver Rob James. Carving kit, tools, and lunch included, and all participants will leave with a decoy ready for the water or the mantle. Rob has 40 years of experience carving decoys and will walk each participant through the decoy-carving process start to finish. Participants can select either mallard or redhead in the ticketing process. If you would like to paint a hen (or have a special request), please contact Rob directly at the number provided below so that we have the correct supplies on hand.
Date:
Saturday, March 25th. Deadline to secure a carving kit is March 4th.
Cost:
$65 per carving kit (includes lunch). Youth participants are welcome. An adult and youth carving together only need to register for one kit. Participants MUST register by March 1st to secure a carving kit. Observers and volunteers are also welcome and need only register for the lunch ($10).
Tools:
Painting supplies provided. Please bring your own goggles and dust mask. Other basic wood-working tools like rasps, box planes, and Dremel-type tools would be helpful if you have them. We will have tools on-hand to share, but you’ll experience less down time if you have some basic tools to bring.
