“And how can they hear about him unless someone tells them?” – ‭‭Romans‬ ‭10‬:‭14‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Purpose:

To bring men together around the shared interest of the outdoors and fishing and to introduce or reintroduce them to the love of Jesus Christ through fellowship and His Gospel.

Date:  Friday, April 10, 2026, through Sunday, April 12, 2026, at Elm Creek RV and Campgrounds

Registration:

  • $ 80.00 – Approved Volunteer Boat Owners
  • $115.00 – Approved Volunteers
  • $165.00 – Participant (16 yrs +)

Space is limited so register now.  We will prioritize opportunities for those who have not attended Blast & Cast events in the past.  Veteran Blast & Cast participants should find a way to volunteer and support the event. Volunteer Boat Owners must be approved by the event organizers.

Age limitations/restrictions:  Minimum age is 16 years old. Youth participants must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Fishing:

Join us for a 3-Day fishing event designed to promote Christian fellowship and authenticity, and to introduce the Gospel of Jesus Christ to outdoorsmen through the efforts of the Central Texas Chapter.

There will be prizes given out in two different categories: Traditional Gear and Fly-Fishing Gear.

Participants will receive daily boat assignments from our event organizers.

Meals:

Please bring snacks and drinks to bring on the boat.

  • Friday: Dinner on your own (Elm Creek Grill is open until 6 pm.)
  • Saturday: Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner provided.
  • Sunday Breakfast provided.
  • There is a Bait Store / Gas Station/ Restaurant at the location

Rules:

  1. No perfect people allowed. Come as you are, no pretending.
  2. Alcohol will not be allowed on boats but will be allowed in moderation after the boat is on the trailer.
  3. Please be mindful of your language when youth participants are around.
  4. Have a good time.

What to bring:

  • There is a Bait Store / Gas Station / Restaurant at the location.
  • Valid Texas fishing license with freshwater endorsement.
  • Drinks and Snacks for the boat.
  • Everyone should bring their own fishing tackle and gear for bass/crappie fishing.  Please don’t expect volunteer boat owners to lend out their gear or tackle.
  • Filet knife and Ziploc bags – plan to clean your own fish, please.
  • A cooler to bring fish home.
  • Sunscreen, hat, sunglasses.
  • A willing attitude that’s eager to help make it work and have a good time – remember, everyone there is a volunteer, so set your expectations as though you are going on a weekend trip with friends.

Suggested tackle:

Plan to fish for Bass and Crappie. Each fisherman should bring their own rod. Appropriate rods are medium-light to medium action, 6-7ft long, either spinning or bait-casting or a 5-8 weight Fly Rod with a sink tip or shooting head. For traditional gear, 12lb test monofilament or 20-30lb test braided line is recommended. We also recommend putting fresh line on reels if you haven’t done so in the last few months. **Note: David Guajardo, the operator of the onsite Elm Creek Bait Store, knows the lake well. He can be reached at  (325) 357-4776.
