WTX – Crane Hunt

Purpose: To gather for an evening of fellowship and morning/afternoon of crane hunting.
Registration: Adult Participants (18 yrs+) – $275
Hunting: Join us for a West Texas crane hunt! We will hunt on Saturday, November 14, 2026 at Playa Lake Farm and Ranch, 2605 Woodrow Road, Lubbock, TX 79423.
Meals: All meals are included. Dinner on the evening of November 13th will be provided at the Lodge. On Saturday we will have breakfast burritos before heading out to hunt with lunch provided at the Lodge afterwards for all participants. Some drinks will be provided with the meals, but it is recommended that participants bring their own drinks while in the field. Alcohol will not be allowed prior to or during the hunt.
Rules:
- Perfect people are not allowed. Come as you are, no pretending.
- Alcohol will not be allowed prior to or during the hunt but may be consumed in moderation after all firearms are put away.
- Please helps us keep the environment kid-friendly by limiting profanity.
- Have a good time.
What to bring:
- Valid Texas Hunting License with Migratory bird stamp and Sandhill crane endorsement
- Everyone should bring their own shotgun (with plug) and plenty of shells
- Sunscreen, bug spray, hat, sunglasses, and/or rain gear, depending on the weather
- Camo or earth-tone clothing and boots
- Knife and Ziploc bags – plan to clean your own birds
- A cooler and ice
- Drinks and snacks for in the field
- Stool or chair to sit on in the field
- A willing attitude that’s eager to help make it work and have a good time. Remember, everyone helping is a volunteer so set your expectations as though you are going on a weekend trip with friends

Donations: Donations are tax deductible! Our events do not operate at a profit, so we are dependent on donations to fund the organization and maintain the low-cost nature of our events. We are currently seeking individual, corporate, and church partnerships to assist in our effort to reach outdoorsmen. Financial and merchandise donations are accepted.
