Purpose:
To point outdoorsmen to the cross by introducing local anglers, businesses, and churches to the North Texas region of Blast & Cast Men’s Ministries.
Date:
Saturday, August 26, 2023, from 5:00 am until 1:00 pm. at Lake Fork Marina (275 County Road 1558, Alba, TX 75410).
Guest Speaker at 11:30 am.
Registration: Available online and in person.
Cost: Participants (18 yrs. +) – $25.00 cash to be collected at the check-in table, plus a $3.00 cash launch fee paid at the marina. | Participants (under 18 yrs.) – Free. | **Optional: $10.00 cash for Big Bass Entry Fee (collected at check-in).
Age Limitations/Restrictions:
No age restriction. Youth participants are highly encouraged but must attend the event with a parent or guardian. Please observe water safety regulations. All participants must wear a Personal Floatation Device (PFD) while in their kayak.
Fishing:
Join the North Texas chapter of Blast & Cast Men’s Ministries for a morning of Kayak Fishing at Lake Fork Marina. This event is designed to bring local anglers together for a fun day of fishing and authentic Christian fellowship. Please invite family members, friends, and co-workers to join you. We will enjoy a free lunch and an encouraging message from our guest speaker at 11:30 am. The event will close out at 12:00 pm with tournament awards and door prizes.

Please bring your favorite snacks and drinks to enjoy while on the water. A free lunch will be provided at 11:30 am.
Rules:
- No perfect people allowed. Come as you are, no pretending.
- No Drunkeness.
- Please be mindful of your language when youth participants are around.
- Have a good time.
- Meet new friends!
What to bring:
- Kayak
- Personal Floatation Device – (PFD) is required and must be worn in the Kayak.
- Valid Texas freshwater fishing license
- Everyone should bring their own fishing tackle and gear for the Fishing Tournament. Please don’t expect volunteers to lend out their gear or tackle.
- Measuring Board (clearly marked).
- Camera or Cell Phone for submitting fish pictures at the end of the event.
- Sunscreen, hat, sunglasses.
- Drinks and Snacks (optional).
- A willing attitude that’s eager to help make it work and have a good time – remember, everyone there is a volunteer, so set your expectations as though you hanging out with a group of friends.
Suggested tackle:
This is a “Catch and Release” Kayak Fishing Tournament. We will practice CPR (Catch, Photo, Release) for this event. Each angler should bring their own fishing gear. Appropriate rods are medium-light to medium action, 6-7ft long, either spinning or bait-casting. 12lb test monofilament or 20-30lb test braided line is sufficient. We recommend putting fresh lines on reels if you haven’t done so in the last few months.
